My brother was thinking about selling his 243 wssm. It has a Nikon scope, Winchester, 2 lb trigger a die head and some brass. It did get caught in a rain storm and he thought he had it all dried up but got a little bit of rust on the barrel. We both have no idea how much they are going for so we wanted some ideas what you guys thought it should be or the going rate?

Yes know what the wind does and know what 5mp and 10 mph wind is. Wind at 10 mph is 18 inches for 500 yard for my rifle and I hit it twice and not realizing the wind picked up I adjusted the moa and starting hitting the plate agiain. But at 800 it's 48 inches ( 4 feet). Good luck

With the last year ammo scare I was forced to reload. So Im pretty new to it. But Im shooting the Nosler 140 grain accurbond. I've been also practicing lot more with Long Range shooting and hitting 500-650 yards. I know 500 yards is not long range to some but Im getting there. But I want a load that when I hit a deer at 600-700 yards I will at least have over a 1000 lbs of energy when I hit it at that distance. To get that lbs I need to be shooting 2950-3000 fps. I finally maxed out the load that says in the Nosler book and shot them today. Here are my results RL15, 47grain, Fed 210 primer= 2,690 fps IMR 4350, 53.5, Fed 210 primer= 2,525 fps RL19, 55g, Fed 210 primer= 2,678 fps This is no where near 3,000 fps in what the Nosler book is claiming. What im I doing wrong or need to change? Im shooting a Tika .270 24" barrel and I believe 1-10" twist. Go easy on me Im still learing in the Reload world! Also its not my goal in life to shoot a deer at 700 yards I just want to make sure that Im capable of a go shot placement and knock down power if I have to. I have a mule deer hunt in Nov. in 36B

Thanks for all the help and advice. I finally got my gun dialed in after many many rounds. The w760 was the powder that got me the speed. But at 3060 fps I was doing a 1-1/4" grouping at 100 yards. Not very good. I took a grain off and dropped me to 3000 fps and hitting one inch groupings at 200 yards. Sighted it in for 300 yard and was smacking center of the 300 yard plate. Took it out to 500 hundred yards and adjusted the Moa and hit the plate and got that gong!!

Wow way to stick it out

I've been hunting that unit for couse for years now. Anything with hills will hold them. Everywhere I've gone you can spot them. I never see hundreds but almost every time morning or evening I'm Glassing up couse. Once you get south of Arivaca and into the bigger hills you see them. Don't be afraid to hunt the base of the mountains and the small rolling hills. I've seen them there just as much as the bigger mountains. Glass and glass good luck

Somebody just posted almost about the same thing a couple weeks ago. I was surprised how many people smoked a deer with it. I wouldn't personally but that's me. My uncle took out a cow elk with a 22-250. Right shot placement it will do the job. You got to remember there are literally tens of thousand of Bad Guys in this world who are no longer breathing thanks to the .223 and human beings are bigger and heavier then couse.

Anything with hills in that unit will hold white tail. Look up on game and fish site it will give you some good points

Good looking buck

There are plenty of spots in the flats for trailers. Couse are usually from the base of the mountains and all the way up to the top. Sometimes you will see them in the flats usually crossing to another side.

Ha ha ha funny thing is I have thrown rocks and hit it on the skip. Lucky for me I had a block wall to sneak up on him to even throw the rock. I want a 22-250 but for right now I use my .270' for everything. I just keep the same load.

Nature girl I thought you were going to take your bow and and stick one of those coyotes near your property? But congrats

If there are any Boy Scouts or fathers who have Boy Scouts and need a Eagle project contact the forest service and get your eagle service project and help do a clean up. I know this doesn't solve our issue but it helps those boys getting their Eagle to have a very good project and help out the Forrest.

New to Arizona hunting. Tips?
Zeke-BE replied to TripleThreatKris's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
There is something about Arizona and the open country. Once you learn to glass and your eyes adjust to using the binos you will find a new favorite kind of hunting besides deer feeders in texas. Nothing is cooler when you pick up deer at 1000-2000 yards out. Lots of guys will spot them out at a mile plus. The excitement starts and you plan the stalk. The country here is very cool and unique. An awesome drive is going north on the 191 to Alpine or take the 10 into phx and head north to either Payson or Flagstaff. You will see a huge elevation change from low desert, to high desert, to junipers and cedars, to large grassy areas and then up to the pines. Enjoy arizona -
Just claim it was coming right toward you and you had to take the shot; with your bow; with the caller around your neck; and the spoil meat that got accidentally left out.

Diesel trucks have come a long way in just 8 years. I'm a ford guy and have a bulletproof 6.0. With them bulletproof you don't have oil cooler problems, EGR problems, or head studs. It work the way it was supposed to. I pulled a 12k lbs trailer with the old tank engine 7.3. Now with the the 6.0 I've notice it's lot smoother and pulls faster up hill with the 12k trailer. I was doing 60- to 55 mph up those big hills from flagstaff to phx and guess what those ford 6.7 pulling bigger trailers blew by me like I was standing still. So my point the Big 3 today's trucks will dance all round my 6.0. Pick one that you like and feel. But I must say I love the ford 6.7. Google it and there was a 2014 diesel shoot out. Ford over all own but there are pros and cons to all of them. Good luck
