Like what everybody says get the muscle memory down! That means the basic principle of shooting. Whatever that means to you, but to me it's like a professional sport professional practice and practice on his basic principle. Then they will do a scrimmage, AKA shooting in all conditions, fatigue, kneeling, quick draw. None of that will come to you until you get the basic muscle memory. After that you need to find out what your real range is. My first shot at the range will be my farthest shot. For example I'll start off at 70 yards. If I can hit that on my very first shot basically means I'm not good enough to shoot at an animal that far. So next time I'll try at 60 yards for my first shot. Let's say I hit that with my very first shot, so now I know this is my range for me to shoot at an animal confidently. If you want 70 yards to be your father's shot then you need to keep practicing until you can hit it every time on your very first shot. Just my 2 cents

Not new to hunting but new to hunting coues deer in arizona
Zeke-BE replied to Rock30golf's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Game and fish web site will give you good places to start. Half this site will tell you to look on there other side of the unit, and he other half will say the same thing but on the opposite side. Pick a spot where you can be close,to both animals and scout like crazy -

Time for a new tuck Diesel or Gas
Zeke-BE replied to AZBUCKEYE's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I love my diesel. I love it I can haul a 12,000 lb trailer up hill on the beeline or the I-17 going 65 mph while the gas truck is going in the slow lane going 35 mph. But if this is all about the mighty $ then your better off with the gas. -

First load. Should I throw this out?

I tried a couple of powders at once. I checked the velocity, and grouping. Of course I went with the powder that gave me the most accuracy, and then velocity next. Out of he 3 powders I picked the best one and messed around with it. When I got to my finale stage and grouping 1 MOA and sometimes a flyer, and just backed off .5 grain and that did it for me. I got it at 1/2 MOA and I never get a flyer unless my barrel gets to hot, usually after the 5 shot if I decide to shoot that fast at once. That was my .270 tikka, W760 at 3000 fps. But like you I had lots of help from CWT and a friend. We also checked the OACL on each round. -
Went with my business partner to the lower black for small mouth bass. I usually fish it up in the high pines for trout. This guy was 18" and caught 42 fish that day. That's how fishing should be! I don't know why the quality of the photo is so bad.

New Low for Boy Scouts
Zeke-BE replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I'm a Scout Master Assistant, and a Eagle Scout. Sadly my heart was never a believer in the system because of stuff like this. Some times it's so hard to go do things in scouts with all this red tape now days. It's almost as bad as trying to register a rifle in California as to just take the boys on a gun merit badge. BSA is trying to cover there butts on everything that it's just turned into a mess. I don't blame them, times have changed people try to,sue for everything. It just seems like it's Turing into just a class room and less being outdoors. I'm now under the belief that BSA are for boys who's dad won't take them camping. Overall it's still a good place for boys to be. Better than no scouts! -
Actually that's very accurate. It cost us more money just to print those and it's worth nothing. So technically were in the negative !!!!

Great buck!! Unfortunately something's shouldn't be said if you don't want to open a can of worms, if you don't care then who cares, some people are very biased on this site, and some think the complete opposite. And some people will piss you off and then the next month they are sending a P M on how they can help you on that hunt! When it comes down to it these people love the hunt, and most people who didn't like your shot have great ethical views that are wonderful for this site. Don't let this post drive you away from CW! I don't care if your a short range shooter, or long ranger shooter. Just know what your capable of. And it sounds like your are! Again awesome buck! -
It's packed!! If your ok with that, bear canyon looks nicer, and has lot more spruce and aspens in the area.

I bet it will knock a coyote out quick!! I haven't heard of to many people hunting with it. But people forget that the thanks to the 5.56 there are thousands and thousands of bad people not breathing because of it. It can still take out 200 lb men, and drop them dead. Couse deer weigh less. But in the sport of hunting and killing humanely most people usually shoot something bigger. But take a .223 brass and put a .30'cal 130-250 grain bullet on it I'm sure it will drop deer humanely from a short distance. Put a suppressor on it you might get lucky and hit the second coyote without him even running away

The 300 blk out was first of a response to SF, Delta Force, and Navy Seals, who showed concerns of a Spec Opp that needed a subsonic round, that could hit lot harder than the HK MP5 9mm, but also stay within the suppressed MP5 length. So they first set out and put it on a MP5 platform with a 30 cal bullet, same weight as a 45 cal, hits hard, and can reach out to 300 yard if had to, while the 9mm was about 100-150 yards max. These military units didn't like the idea of going to the MP5 on special Spec Opp and when crap hit the fan and to find themselves with 150-300 yard shots the sub machine just doesn't have it. So that's what the 300 blk out started off. As compact as the MP5, Sub sonic for spec op, hits hard at close range, and if need be it can reach 300 yards. But the military didn't pick up a contract as I'm aware off. But I've heard of SWAT teams using them, and the private sector really took off.
