My guess would b a domesticated dog. Its definitely not a coyote. Coyote skulls are smaller and more elongated/pointed looking. They don't have such a drastic slope from the forehead to snout as this skull does. -Tracy

Finally checked the cams after 4 months!

Thanks for the info Tracy....they say it will take over 4000 pics on one set of batteries, but sounds like you will be getting way more than that. You using lithiums or regular AAs? Im using lithiums. Its been my experience that you get what you pay for when it comes to batteries. Lithiums may cost twice as much but you get four times the life. So it may seem expensive when your looking at the price but if you consider the longevity of the useage they are actually WAY cheaper! -

Nice pics Amanda! You definitely have a good spot there. I love the bear pics! The battery life on the Coverts is 2nd to none! I have had my camera out since mid April. I go check it every two weeks and I always have between 500 and 1300 pics on it so I would guess that its taken any where from 4000 to 6000 pics and I have not changed the batteries. I always bring new batteries with me but to this day the battery level still reads full. Amazing!!! That right there, IMO, makes the Covert the best camera on the market. -Tracy -
Absolutely the best javelina mount I've seen! The picture doesn't even come close to doing it justice. I love how natural it looks! Very original. Bret does amazing work! Hands down the best in the state IMO. -Tracy

After finding a canyon last October that was COVERED in bear sign I made a mental note to come back and set some cameras in the spring. I returned at the end of April with my good friend Frank (kaffer62) and after 4 hours of hiking back and forth and up and down the canyon the perfect spot to set the camera was found. Its a spring fed marsh and its absolutely beautiful! I came back after 4 weeks with high hopes to check the camera and found my camera broken, slobbered on and twisted around to the opposite side of the tree. After checking the memorey card in the camera the guilty culprit was revealed...a huge black bear! Exactly what I was hoping for! He had come in 2 days after we set the camera and decided he didnt like having his picture taken. Hahaha! Unfortunately the camera was inoperable after that so the next 3 and half weeks were a waist and no other pictures were taken. I set up another camera with a security/bear box so it could not be destoyed by the bear and left it for another week before I returned to check the memory card. I was excited to see even more promising pictures that this fall could be a great bear season! Its hard to tell but I think there are 3 diffferent bears in the area. There was a gold mine of pictures on the camera, here are a few. Enjoy! -Tracy The next 3 are my favorite of all the pics!

Angie will definitely be joining me on the hunt! This area is WAY too thick and impossible to glass so we will be sitting treestands. I can't wait to watch her drop the hammer on a big o'l boar!!! -Tracy

Im pretty sure they will still be in there when the season opens. The reason I set up in there is because of all the fresh sign I found in there last year during bear season. Only time will tell though. -Tracy

Gotta Read This...
Gr8 White Jr replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Exactly right! If our government put the time and money into illegal immigration like they do in the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the problem would be solved quickly. Maybe they should move the Whitehouse down to the border. Then Obama can watch 300-1200 immigrants walk across his front lawn daily. +1 Maybe we can move Congress down there too. That would really help speed up the process of getting something done that works. Couldn't agree more!! Definitely a good read! Thanks for this post Coosefan! -Tracy -
I have the SDP sight and absolutely love it! I would also recomend the micro adjust and the hogg wrap, both make a huge difference and are worth every dime! I've been shooting with this sight for the last five years and IMO this is the best sight out there. -Tracy
