I generally like to sit stands at about 22' to 24' up but I am kinda new to tree stands compared to some. But most of the guy's I hunt with set their stand way high and with the quality of bucks they harvest it's hard to argue.

USO What units do you typically put in for elk? 1, 9, 10 rifle,bow? What about deer? The strip, December whitey's? Just curious cause we have had a simular discussion about this on previous threads. (IMO) There are plenty of way's to get drawn unless you put in for the so called Trophy units on a regular basis. To each his own I guess but I usually stay away from those low percentage units because in my mind there is a true trophy in every unit.

I would say leave it alone. Personally I like it the way it is.

Take a look at those OTHER countries and I am sure you have the seen the emails going around. They( the oil people) build indoor ski resorts, they drive silver plated rolls royces, they build 100 bedroom mansions for their homes with solid gold plumbing fixtures, they make islands in the ocean the shape of palm trees for the other rich oil men to play golf. All while the PEOPLE in their country are starving. You are sadly mistaken if you do not call these prices GREED. Whether its the government or the major oil companies its just a shame on what is going on GREED and MONOPOLY is what comes to my mind. Just my .02

Jamaro I agree with you about Zumbo. I have alway's liked reading his books and watching his show's and I also think he should still be writing his column somewhere but he did make that comment on his blog and it did have a negative impact on us gun owners. Maybe he's not a big fan of those types of guns but you have got to watch your P' and Q's when you are in that position he was in.

If I remember right when AZGFD used that company out of Nevada (sci fi nevada) or something like that they never had any issues. When they switched to this newer company it went to crap. (Politics ) Well at least they got rid of em. Its a shame they didn't do it a tad earlier.

This is what people don't understand. Big oil does not set the market price for oil / gas. So, to put the blame on oil companies is just a cop out. Plus, there is nothing illegal about making a profit. How are you going to tell a corporation that they are breaking the law by making a profit? Instead, how about the fact that the greenies have made it almost impossible to build a new refinery in this country? Not one new refinery has been put into product in the US in 25 years, yet we all know that there are many more cars on the road than 25 years ago, just in the USA. Now, each state has their own laws on what type of fule can be sold within it's borders. Cali has their own blend, so they take up a lot of refining capacity to make fuel that can only be sold in California. AZ has different blends that are sold at different times of the year. Those refineries have to shut down to make the switch from winter to summer gas. How about we have one nationwide standard for gas? Guess what? Try to make that change and you will have every tofu eating, Birkenstock wearing, non-bathing, ALGOR worshipping, dreadlocked hippey in the country sueing to stop it. Percentage wise, the price of an elk tag has gone as much or more in the last 5 years, than the price of gas. Didn't the government make Microsoft split or something like that because they were getting to big and making to much mula? Just thought I remembered hearing this. Also is there a law on being a Monopoly?
