A good friend once told me (again and again) to hold low at the heart so if you miss it's a clean miss and if you miss high it's still done for (right through the lungs). Aim small...... miss small....... (name that person) Ps.... I find that if I am sitting at nose bleed levels and take shots out to 30 yards that there is not much you have to adjust for but when he is right below you thats when you need to adjust your shot.....Just my .02

thanks for all the replys- ive been searching for some posts that may help with my bear hunt- pulled up 4 pages of posts going back 4 years! great site - lots of information. will only be shoot a large male bear- its silly to shoot the small ones- i guess you consider it my mental slot limit Don't say that to Casey He alway's shoots the wittle ones. I did not have enough time to get the story ( but hopefully I will soon ) but I got to hold this buck in my hands today and was simply amazed at it's character. Anyhow I have the permission from the shooter - Mark to post it and all I know is it was harvested/whacked down south somewhere. He has decided to have it scored (just to know) but has not at this time. So what do you fellow CWT guy's and gals think he might go.

Negative ghost rider. Had a sidewinder come hauling butt right at me from behind. I was changing out the hitch on my truck when one of my girls yelled snake. He was only 4' from me and was scootin right at me. I made it into the bed of my truck where the girls already were in one leap. The only dilema was my wife was in the garage (door open)and that dang snake was not to happy with her at this point. So yada yada yada................. He was a very aggressvive crotalus cerastus. He never rattled once. Moral of the story- not all snakes "WARN YOU"

Ask the old timers about how far they can shoot the 06' with a military background or a hunting back ground You just might be amazed.
