Me and a buddy scouted 36b this weekend and boy was it green.Allergies bout got the best of me but we did see deer every time we stopped to glass.Didn't find the bucks we were looking for but did see a couple in the 80's range.I have never seen such thick ocitillo stands.Tough to see the deer but they are there. No illegals and lots of border patrol, guard and dept of defense vehicles.

After falling asleep friday in 6b I awoke to see a doe defending her fawn from a yote. All the comotion only 30 yards from me.Also saw two huge mulies that wouldn't let me get close enough to shoot.Thats ok though, the only way I was going to give up my nov rif hunt in 36b was to shoot a monster.By the way Bowhunter 12 came into camp and introduced himself, good kid and was very eager to get his first buck.Hope he had fun!!! -

I feel for you man.I had scouted an area and found a sweet trick tank, two weeks later a ground blind had been built on it.I left my name and number and asked if I could use the ground blind.I had a return phone call that still shocks me.He called and said he would not be able to hunt the first weekend and that I could use the blind as long as I left it the way I found it.Really nice gesture and I used the blind,to no aveil,I saw one doe and fawn and about one hundred quail.LOL -

I would like to know the difference between hunting those easy going draws or hunting the mountain ranges in the unit.I took a nice wide fork horn last october in the northern part of the tumaccori mountains.I ask because I expected to see more deer for all the miles and glassing we did? -
Everyone has done it dave just be careful you don't shoot your cat lol.Seems that letting down is harder when you don't know your bows about to do it huh!Practice makes perfect good luck!!

Excellent reply.Hike more than a mile away from roads and you'll have no problems. In 36b last year We hiked about three miles into a widerness area and didn't see 1 out of 1175 other hunter's till we hit the road on the quads!!!!

This is the first time I have heard of supporting the rear of the gun.I have always tucked her in to my shoulder and braced the top of the butt with my left hand.I have no problem with steadiness in this position.I do prefer sitting down though to standing or lay down.My last coues was at 339 yards bedded in some grass and presented about 8 inches of his upper body,He never moved again.

Just won my 15x45's for 600.00 on ebay.If I don't like em I'm sure I will get my dollars back out of em.Worth a shot anyway, especially at that price.Any one here use the k&k outdoors tripod?
