Thank you for saying that El Fuego! I am a firm believer in Karma and that we should live our lives with others in mind. I would love to see his son's paws wrapped around the bruiser I missed during archery season. He is definitely DIALED in now!!! The smiles make it all worthwhile and is self gratifying to say the least.

You seem to be well on your way! Keep up the scouting and pattern that buck's demise!!!!
-
Thank you for the compliments! He is a glassing machine and hikes even harder! He is cursed with his father's desire to find out what might be on the other side of the next ridge lmao! We have ended up 6 miles away before realizing how far we have chased the respectable grey ghost. Most people see the tail waving goodbye but my son looks at it as an invitation to come along! He is amazing!

And thank you for the kind words! I love this site and have been a member for a long time. Life throws us curve balls and we can tend to get off track. I am back on track with my 11 year old sniper (who has put pictures of cherried out ar-15's all over his bedroom walls) ready to get it done!

personally that is such a trophy tag that id start talking to guides. that is a hunt that deserves MONSTER attention. ryan hatch with muley crazy magazine may be able to help. just curious but why put in for a strip tag without being after a monster?

Hey guys its been way too long!!! havent been on site in almost two years After divorce bankruptcy and foreclosure in past two years my ten year old is of age to hunt. He was lucky enough to draw a cow tag for 6a jr hunt!!! and we found out today that he and i drew 16a muley tags!!! i'm so excited to share the field with my son! the adventures i have long dreamed about are soon to be! I like to hike and the kid has proven his stock in 36a and b through some rugged country. We are looking for guidence on the 16a hunt. I love to glass and drew a unit im unfamilar with but jacked to learn about! I do not have the resources for alot of scouting trips. maybe two or three before the hunt. Im intrested in the mountain lion aspect of this hunt as well. Any tips on common areas other than the tips on the azgamenfish site would be appreciated. Congrats to all on the up and coming hunts!!!!! god bless

Well boys my eight year old son proved to be tough as nails!!!!!!!! !4 miles over three 90 plus degree days and hours of glassing with the sun brutalizing us we took a meat buck! I had planned to show my son how to do it right. We left camp friday morning at 330 and headed to our spot. We glassed for hours finding nothing but does and fawns adn a single horn spike. w We ate lunch in the shade of a mesquite and pondered what the evening may hold. nothing. Saturday began the same as the day before with a bit more wind involved until about 945am when i glassed up a 2x2 feeding towards the north slope of his hill. After the tough day before and my son with me I really wanted him to see dad in action so I told him of my plan and we embarked. 45min later we jumped the buck out of his bed ind i dropped to one knee and showed matthew how its done!!! 140 yards on the run through the front shoulder and heart. Matthew screams "you got him dad!" and the elation ran through me! We had successfully taken a coues! He's not my biggest but all said and done its my most fufilling hunt to date!!!! I have a new hunting partner for life!!!! Thanks to all on this site that have helped over the years and to duane adams for my glassing techniques!!!! pics to follow

Thanks to all who have responded and hold tight for pics!!! I will try to get them posted by the end of the week! Kinda waiting so i post pics of my buck mounted by kruegars that i took last year!!! 90plus inches last year and only 60 inches this year but all the smiles look the same!!!! -

I personally have never had an issue with my camp or things being taken and i camp 600 yards from the border in the middle of nowhere. I have seen illegals passing through nearby washes>and canyons though. I have even helped them out with a lift by radioing my gps location to the border patrol. I wish all of you a safe and wonderful hunt. 100 inches or bust! my almost nine year old son will be my hunting partner for four days in 36b. if you see an 05 red dodge 2500 4x4 with a big red coueswhitetail sticker stop in for a cold one or just to share your story! come on thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
