Has anyone on the site ever used a gopro to video their own elk hunt? Wondering if I should attach it to my bow or wear it on my head. They have a pole attachment that I considered strapping to my badlands for an above type shot as well. Any Ideas will help!

I was contemplating the exact same thing with the 22 in pole. my badlands 2200 has to have a spot for it! I will test the camera in all the different facets before the show begins! Thanks for the advice guys!

Thank you for the advice! Archery elk 5a! Appreciate your response -
I have had success calling them in during the rut in the transition areas between pine and cedar. I love the northern end when it's holding decent water. I have been told the numbers are lower in the northern end from years past. I am considering switching it up this year but who knows, we have time to think about it

Thanks! I bought the new black edition which has the remote. click of a button and it's rolling. I just mounted it to my bow. Great Idea

81a being one of those roads. If you bugger down that powerline road slow enough to the south (southeast of buck mountain) you tend to get away from the crowds and those southern canyons hold Bulls all year long. Good Luck!

5BN Not asking for hand outs just have a few questions???

West side of Diablo Canyon, locate the water at the southern most end of the canyon. Set up deadfall ground blind, if it isnt still there, and hunt first light and late afternoon. Be patient and you will shoot a decent bull. 30 to 40 yard shots are available on average. Bonus is you can get a vehicle close to make the pack out about 300yards. Have Fun! -
I like to keep things positive so here goes, Posts like this stir the pot of negativity. As each one of us responds to such an unbelievable post with anger and disgust, Plague00 (it's in the name) sits back and laughs at the conversation he has started. He drew a great tag, we all know the late hunts are tough but the unit has Big Bulls that survive that hunt each year. Increase your time in the field and MAKE that tag a GREAT one. My only other advice to all who read this is, Please do not put in for a tag that you wont respect or utilize, as many would gladly take your spot without complaining. Many Blessings on a successful hunt.

Pm any bits of advice for starting points. I have experience in the unit but it was 2005 and 2007. Then 5bn 2008 to help another friend. I would like nothing more than to talk strategy and CONGRATS on the 7e hunt. Love early October! Respectfully, Ken
