So how is it you know so much about that region IV ram? You said he goes into CA? Does he swim or cross over a bridge?
-
Hahahaha you won that argument! Did you ride the little bus? Lol
-
I'm usually out hunting or scouting and not watching movies or sitting behind a computer telling everyone how much of a hunter I am derelict. Go make mud pies!

Hey AZkiller for a man of your intellect, I'm sure you've heard of auto correct. Lol The more you post the more idiotic you seem.
-
What you said was one of the most insanely idiotic things that I have ever heard. At no point was a coherent thought ever conceived. I award you no points and may God have mersey on you're soul. Lol. No one can guess scores?!?! Guides do it all the time.I guess you seem to know more than I do killer.

Whether that ram is 175 or 200 it doesn't matter. I don't think anyone can accurately put a score on him without actually seeing him alive or pulling a tape. The ADO crew has solid reputation of helping their hunters to some of the biggest rams region IV has to offer. I've never heard of anyone from the ADO camp throwing scores around. I've personally have talked to those guys and their answer regarding score is "let's put a tape on him & find out". I don't think anybody is qualified to say what he scores because he's not your normal everyday ram. Hopefully one day we'll all find out.

Well I'm shocked to announce that two close friends drew Desert Sheep tags this year. Not sure which units yet but they may have drawn the same unit. It's going be interesting for sure. I'm sure here pretty soon they'll be getting tons of mail from all the sheep Outfitters.

Two sheep tags double the fun!

I don't know anything about a 190 ram. Is there something I'm missing? -

Congrats to the young huntress. She's our next generation of hunters. If I'm not mistaken the ADO crew guided that new unit record in 44bn. I hear they broke their old unit record from 2008. Glad to the Plamosa mtns producing such fine rams. Both rams from this year are dandy's for sure!! -

I know this is an old thread but I couldn't help but point out that there's a new sheep hunting outfit(Arizona Desert Outfitters) but same veteran hunters. They might just be the best team of guides for 2014. Troy Scott, Eric Hunt & Travis Scott and the rest of there crew did an incredible job this year producing 5 172+ rams & a 180+ ram from 5 different western units in about 10-12 total days hunting. They guided 7 in total. I'd say that's pretty remarkable.

Now any guy who still carries his spent cartridge in his pocket 22 days after harvesting his ram is a true sheep nut.Congrats on a great ram!

I've heard of a great ram from 44bs been taken. Probably one of the largest taken in in a few decades. I hear he has great length, mass & most of all age. Rumor has it he was 10+ years old. With a declined sheep population in 44bs from years past you should feel very fortunate he survived the last few sheep seasons and especially the last two seasons. I'm sure the past tag holders are scratching their heads about your ram.One thing for sure compared to the last few years it sounds like you made the right choice in trusting Travis Scott to help you. Congrats on what sounds to be a great ram. I can't wait to hear the story and see the pictures.

Speedgoat I've been on 30+ successful sheep hunts. Old Ghost is a ram that score don't matter. Only his character & uniqueness matters with him. I'd personally put him around 174-176. These days with the newer generation its all about numbers and not about the rams themselves. Today I know more died in the wool sheep hunters remember a legend ram from 44aw that was pursued by a governor hunter that was killed a year later only to score 178. This ram is still remembered more than the last few auction rams killed in the last few years that scored 180 or better. I know of several sheep hunters who have lots of $$$$ would spend lots of $$$$ to have an opportunity to hunt that ram next year if he lives. Im just an old school sheep hunting veteran who puts character & age over score. I've laid my hands on 6 180+ rams whole lot of 170+ rams and a bunch of 150-160 rams which are great memories as well.

I remember running into your dad & grandpa that very same hunt. I was helping a non- resident & a resident hunter who drew on the same application. The resident hunter wound up falling and compound fractured his leg right around Christmas time. He laid on on the mountain for two days until he got help. Anyhow back to your dads ram all I can say is WOW!! That ram is truley a KOFA king!!

Well I guess it's all about numbers & nothing about character anymore. I would be willing to bet that if Ghost was harvested he would be remembered as a legend far more that just the run of the mill 180 ram from 22. And far as learning how to field judge sheep most folks couldn't tell the difference in a 180+ unit 22 vs 165 40b ram. So all the hype on learning how to field judge sheep is ridiculous. The only real way to learn how to field judge is by being on lots of hunt where different scoring sheep are harvested. Just my .02 worth.

175 1/8 West Kofa ram 1997?
-
The other ram is a nice ram but this is a big ram. I'm surprised the auction hunter isn't chasing after him.

He looks like a typical 43b ram. I'd say he's lucky to break the 170 mark. He looks to have around 14" bases and 34" on the length. He just doesn't drop below the jaw much.
