270 FPS out of a bow claiming 315 fps IBO?
trophyhnter replied to rossislider's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
Swhacker recommends a minimum of 60 ft-lbs of kinetic energy when using Swhacker Broadheads..... So you will get a pass through on any coues with any broadhead you use. -
Cool video. Huge congrats on the bear and that rifle is pretty sweet! I see you have a muzzlebeak on it but at the speed, a 300 gain bullet has to kick! What would be a comparable recoil?

We will contunue to prayer for a full recovery! -
Tough situation! We should all know the seasons and what would you do if you found yourself in that situation? I havent hunted paire dogs in the past but I don't think I would give it a second thought. I'm sure that they are following their procedures so that the public does not perceive the commissioners as above the law!

Great potential! Maybe you should sweeten the deal by putting out some other attractant.....assuming you have something down for them now.

No Archery In December In 34A??
trophyhnter replied to KiLLAcOuEs's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
Yeah, I think the season closures are based on G&F annual deer counts and the percent archery kills. Although, it shoud be pointed out that the percent harvest for rifle hunts are based on a calculation (guess) based on the harvest counts in the field, the reported harvest cards ( & g&m web reporting page) and a guess of those that do not submitt a harvest card! The harvest objective for mule deer are low as reflected by the number of tags so it may have something to do with meeting or exceeding the archery harvest objectives! I am going to be rifle hunting in this unit for the first time this year.........I will fill out the harvest card! -
Great Pics!

My guess on score: High! I also guess you will have a great time chasing those bulls, especially the last one....high and wide! Good luck!
