+1 for Ron's. He did my elk and I am very happy with it. GreyGhost85 - There are 2 shop's with the name Ron's. One on the east side and one on the west side. I have read on here about a couple of guys not being happy with Ron's, but it was the one in the west valley.

My first bull. Unit 10, early rifle 2014. Taken on the 6th day of the hunt.

Do you agree with G&F forcing kids to take Hunter Safety???
kjkf replied to Big Browns's topic in Youth Hunters
Yes. Been through it three times (myself + 3 kids) and each time picked up something new. Be a parent, not a friend! Pretty simple, take the class or don't hunt. I think it should be mandatory for everyone. -
I was fortunate enough to get a shot at this guy after six days of hunting last year on the early rifle hunt. It was DIY.

I went with Ron's Taxidermy in AJ after seeing a friends elk mount that he did a few years ago.

Thanks guys, and yes it had a huge body. HuntHarder - someone that likes to hunt on their in-laws farm every year in MN.

I was fortunate enough to take this bull on an early hunt last year. Since I promised my wife I would go back to hunting strictly for meat after I got a bull, this will probably be the only one I ever get. Maybe someday I will try and renegotiate our deal.

Does anybody have a guess as to the percentage of early tags (archery/rifle) that will hunt on the Bo ranch? I have an early rifle tag and kicked the idea around, but have decided not to pay the $60. I believe that no matter where someone hunts, time, effort and luck play a big part in being successful.

I will be hunting in unit 10. From the areas that I have been able to look at so far, there seems to be a little more water available in the junipers. Thanks for your feedback on the generator. It's going to be tuff enough trying to sleep with all the adrenaline from the hunt.

Thanks for the responses. I plan to camp at least a least a mile or two away from where I am currently looking to hunt. My biggest problem is I keep changing my mind every time I go look at a new place.

First off I would like to say hello to everyone on here. This forum was recommended by a friend a few weeks ago, and I must say that I am impressed with the knowledge here. On to my questions, I was lucky enough to draw an early bull tag and was wondering what are the pro's and con's of hunting in the pines or in the junipers. Is one better than the other? Also, I have to use a CPAP machine at night and was curious what effect a generator might have on the elk? Thanks for any information that you can provide.
