Yea, I dont doubt it happens occasionally, but it is not a regular occurance. I am mostly talking about the locked gates that generally only have a ranch lock, BP lock and sometimes a utility company lock on them.

I spend A LOT of time in 36c. I have never seen hunters vehicles in the more popular walk in areas (Joe King, Santa Margarita, Schaffer, etc). The ranches towards the southern portion of the unit are less tolerant of hunters than the ranches farther north (Kings Anvil, Elk Horn). You will see vehicles in these walk in areas, but they will be ranchers or Border Patrol. Good luck on your hunt!

Once at a pizza shop, " only cut my pizza into four slices, I dont think I can eat six." He was a good man, even though he played for the Yankees

Ive put in for a few years and have never drawn. Ive noticed the same thing, lots of same last names. There are no group applications, but maybe they allow group apps if one is a kid?

Im pretty sure it had to do with the extradition agreement. Mexico wouldn't turn him over to us unless we agreed not to kill him. We should have just gone down there and got him ourselves.

Lol! Sorry, the cats out of the bag. My 6 year old thinks that is the greatest place one earth.

We really like Big Lake. A little more out of the way but plenty of camping and good fishing!

Free bump. I have that exact same harness, love mine. Without the front pocket it is perfect for bowhunting as it sits much closer to your chest. No stretch or bounce with the straps.

Have you used a doubler before? I like the idea of having more magnification without lugging around my spotting scope.

Pretty cool. Thats awesome seeing the antelope in the pine trees!

So we were having a discussion this morning at work about what your sight picture is when looking through your peep sight. I have always centered my sight housing in my peep sight so the peep sight covers the ring around my sight housing. A couple of guys I work with stated that they will center the individual pin that they are shooting in the middle of their peep. Out of curiosity, how do you guys do it? Are there any advantages of one over the other? My assumption is it doesn't matter as long as you are consistent. Thoughts?

quote name="TOBY" post="570107" timestamp="1436200848"]Most guys use a peep that when looked thru is a match to the circumfrence of the sight housing allowing a true center to view all pins. The peep I have seems to fit the circumference of my sight and is pretty easy to tell if its centered. I guess its the way i learned how to shoot and have always done it that way. I didnt even realize that some guys would center the pin instead until recently. The guys I work with who center the pin are both fantastic shooters so I guess its just about what you are comfortable with and practice with.

That is going to be my next spooky campfire story for the kids!

I am looking for some input from all you bow tuning gurus. I just switched arrows to a stiffer spine (Victory RIP .350), my old arrows were spined at .424. I am getting ready to redo my sight tape and was wondering if I should paper tune again before sighting in. Will switching to a stiffer shaft have an impact on the centershot of the bow? My gut says yes because of the different dynamic spine, but im not sure. Thanks in advace for any insight!

Bowfit Upper-Body Exerciser - Anybody have one?

Lol! I would have paid money to watch him get whacked in the eye with a band..... -
Good advise! On some garage doors you can slide something in (hanger, slimjim, etc.) the top crack of the door withou having to drill a hole. I tried a few years ago on mine and was able to easily grab the lever that the string is tied to. I simply used a few heavy zip ties to secure the lever to the frame, eliminating the ability for the lever to come down.

I noticed on the other thread that a lot of guys are shooting the Easton Axis. I am looking to upgrade arrows this year to a micro diameter arrow and the Axis is on my short list. I know the Deep Six inserts require the use of Deep Six broadheads, but what about the HIT inserts? Do they use standard threaded broadheads? Any advantage of using the Deep Six over the HIT inserts? I didnt want to hijack the other thread, thanks in advance for any insight!

Good info, thanks.

I have seen this done but have never tried it. This may seem naive but what is the primary benefit? Is it just added weight and increased FOC%?
-
Thanks. I have read about the collars and was under the impression that if the inserts are intalled correctly you shouldnt need them. Are they required for all broadheads or do some broadheads just fit different?
-
Thanks, ill check them out. I was looking at the Victory VAP's but they are a good chunk of change. Are the RIP's new this year? I dont recall seeing them before.

Thanks everyone for the input. I guess the Axis are not really "micro" diameter but rather the slim tech (ST) and smaller than standard shafts. In my simple mind anything smaller than the tree trunks I shoot now are micro!
