I am taking my buddy hunting for the 1st time ever got him set up on a bow and he is using my sitka gear and smaller optics. I want to try and get him on a deer this weekend. Do you have any advice on where to go close to Chandler/Phx? I have some swaro 15x56's and a vortex razor 11-33x50 spotter while he uses my diamondback 10x42's. So we have the glass down, just wondering where would be good near us. Thank you, Tj Perez

Yeah thats true I have a great time just getting out of the city and spending some time outdoors! Thanks Mattys281! Ill do some research and try and find a good spot for 1st timers. I just wanted him to atlas get on some deer. Knowing that filling the hard is definitely a skill that comes with many years to come with a bow! thank you, Tj

Mattys281 Thank you I'll try and look for some openings on Google maps or az access map. In 22 off 87 like by sugar loaf mtn or sycamore creek?

Oh he is fully aware I have taken him with me before to 36a and 36b for rifle and he knows it's not easy. And I have been hunting for 3 years and I got a deer my first year with a bow and haven't since. Just looking for a good area for beginners I guess and knowledge helps! Thank you, Tj

I am looking for some insight of places near Phx I live in Ahwatukee (east valley) I won't be able to drive into trails due to my vehicle situation right now. I don't mind hiking in. Is there any place I should go I am just looking to fill my freezer. Ill shoot a spike i just want some meat in my freezer and 2015 is a new year. Ive shot one deer with my bow before and I am still new (3 years) into hunting. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated and I'm not looking for secret spots. I want to go out this week either christmas eve or the day after christmas, possibly the weekend following christmas if permitted by work. Thank you everyone. Thanks, Tj Perez tj.perez90@yahoo.com 480-720-8987

Want to Fill a Tag Close to PHX
AZCOU3SHUNTER replied to AZCOU3SHUNTER's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I am not picky when it comes to shooting a deer even on opening day. I shot a fork by spike my first deer and I wouldn't pass up that same deer or a Fork by Fork on the first in August. I want to be able to enjoy some venison. Thank you AverageJoe for some insight. I appreciate it! I usually hunt in southern AZ but don't have the time before the new year. AverageJoe: I have some swarovski 15x56's and a vortex razor 11-33x50 spotting scope. Thank you again not sure where Ill be going for sure. On the beeline hwy is it by sugarloaf mtn? Tcharchery: I don't just look forward to filling the freezer. I am joy all aspects of hunting and even when I don't see a deer out in the field I still have a good time and just enjoy being out there. -
Hello I'm new to predator calling and I want to get better at it and was wonder in tips and tricks to do. I have some rabbit calls and I am in the process of getting a fox pro. Also i live in ahwatukee (east valley) and was wondering where is a good area that's close by not asking for personal spots just general locations. Any knowledge is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tj

I was referring to coming in through redington rd from tucson and heading east. And it turns into San Pedro river rd

I would drive back pretty far until you pass the ranch on the right not sure what the name is to be quite honest and spend time glassing hills and the fingers. My dads buddy has that hunt and we've been back there a lot due to my dad living right off catalina why. the further back you go will be less crowded with jeeps and rock crawlers. Tj

I would definitely get a harris well worth the money. I have the harris 25c 12-25 inches and pivots. You can shoot kneeling or sitting against a rock as well. Ive had caldwell and broke within one season. If you're not going to buy a harris I would recommend buying a blackhawk, it is more sturdy than the caldwell bipods. I have 3 harris bipods on all of my hunting rifles.

What is access like? Will I need to bring my ranger or can I park and hike in easily?

Are 15X's that much of an advantage
AZCOU3SHUNTER replied to joeinaz0's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I love my 15x56 swaros I have a razor spotting scope and some 10x42 vortex diamondbacks. I wouldn't trade my 15's for anything and I got them for only $1599 when the new model came out. You might be able to still find a pair somewhere I got mine off cameralandny.com. Call Doug there and ask him if they're still available. -
Anyone still waiting for their tags?
