Found 4 different 11 pointers and they were all with does. 2 of them were pushing and sniffing pretty hard. It was 29° in the desert This morning. Absolutely love it!

Great story and glad you were able to get Mr. Big. He is a beautiful ram!

I know somebody who bought a Non-Resident tag and when he hit “submit” at 12:01am, there had already been 1,000 tags processed. Not sure where he saw that number but that’s what he Said.

Dang man what a cool story! That is freaking amazing! Good job and congratulations again.

Sorry to post it without asking man. I did not know you were a member. I can delete this post so you can make a post and story yourself. I just saw it and was blown away. You kicked butt. Congratulations.

You do miss out on a lot of good and bad but I mostly used it to follow hunting and fishing stuff so I avoid a lot of the BS also. I just thought what this gentleman accomplished is worth sharing.

Sportsman’s warehouse in yuma had 8 boxes of 25-06 today. I didn’t notice price or what grain but I did see the caliber.

Walmart In my area usually has a couple boxes from time to time and when they do I started buying them when I saw them.

For those of you who shoot lighted nocks, is there a preference you have found that you like one brand over the other? Is there a noticeable drop at longer distance (50+ yards)? I am thinking on switching to a lighted nock for hunting this season but was just curious what some you have experienced with them. Thanks for any input.

Got the nocks in and finally had a chance to shoot them and they work as advertised. I did not see any drop in my arrows out to 70 yards. They flew the same as my other nocks. Pretty happy with these lighted nocks. Have some friends that bought some so will see how they like them.

Great photos! -
Nice buck! Congrats to your wife! She must be extremely happy!

Spring training games are pretty cool for something different. Trout fishing at Big Lake is one of my favorites. Catching a Rodney Carrington show when he’s in the area is always fun!

I ended up ordering those Deepower nocks. See how they work for me.

I have the opportunity to harvest 4 Coues deer this year
Yuma Outdoorsman replied to DonkeyMan's topic in The Campfire
I think everybody here is happy for you and wants you to be successful in your pursuit for 4 coues in one year. That is seriously quite the accomplishment. I think it rubbed a few guys wrong at first how it seemed you put the cart ahead of the horse claiming you were going to shoot 100" bucks or bust and then settled for something smaller. I don't blame you though. We all have the goal to shoot a "book" buck before our hunts start and sometimes that doesn't work out and you shoot what is available. No shame in that. I hope your next buck is your biggest this year and you accomplish your goal of 4 coues bucks regardless of the scores. Good luck man. -
I saw this on youtube and thought it was pretty interesting.

I will check those out!

I am going to shoot arrows with regular nocks and some with lighted nocks and see what sort of difference I see for my bow. Hopefully it is nothing crazy.

Thank you for the information. I think I will get some to target practice with and see. I have watched a lot of videos and they sure look cool. I read some posts on other websites after I made the post on here and it sounds like some people love them and some people hate them...that's the same with everything though.

https://www.davesmithdecoys.com/decoys/turkey-decoys/ These are pretty pricey but the quality is second to none. I've got a buddy that uses goose decoys from this company and it's hard to tell the difference between the real birds and decoys when they land. Super realistic.

Ain’t the first time he’s done that…

Well, only does and spikes for me this hunt. Our camp Only manage 1 buck for the hunt and it was an 18” 3x3. We usually hunt the flats but the deer where we hunt were up in the hills. Didn’t realize that until Saturday afternoon and ended up finding does pretty quickly. Today, we spotted 6 different groups of does and fawns and 29 deer total. Only 1 was a buck and it was small spike. Oh well, I know where to go for the rut. We ran into an older gentlemen who said he has hunted this unit for 50 years and when the desert is this green the big bucks go up with the sheep. He said he had glassed up a couple good bucks this weekend but they were too high for him to go after. I talked with people who hunted other desert units around Yuma and it sounds like a lot of people struggled to find deer. Way below average harvest. I know some that were successful and said all the buck they saw were in bachelor herds of 3-5 bucks. I did see the bachelor here of 3 before the season but with all the pressure I am sure they ran for the hills. Looks like I’ll be archery hunting in December. we did see a nice ram looked up high for deer. Pretty cool for the kids to see.

Gotta love when an opening morning buck shows itself on the last day of the hunt! Congrats on a stud buck. That's awesome.
