Exactly how my buddy Drew his Tule Elk tag in CA. Nobody wanted to chance it and he drew first year. As soon as the hunt was proposed he went and scouted it. Bunch of people gave him shoot about how lucky he was. We asked a couple guys that told us that if they put in for the hunt, answer of course was no!I feel really bad for the guys that have put in for that long without drawing. Sure hope it doesn't take me that long! 47 years is a long time to wait! Enjoy the hunt. Looking forward to the pictures.

Small suspending jerkbaits always catch canal fish for me. I also use Yamamoto grubs successfully. When I canal fish it's usually the all American down by Yuma and into So Cal. Also fish the various canals around Blythe. All seem to hold quite a few fish.

Anyone running the new NITTO Terra Grappler G2's
Havasuhunter replied to PRDATR's topic in The Campfire
I just put new Toyo open country ATs on my Tundra. Like them better than the BFGs on my Tacoma. Almost went with the Nittos to save a little money, but have had great luck with Toyos on heavier trucks before, so I just went with them. Nittos are made in the Toyo factory I've been told, so I'm sure those new Terra Grapplers are very good tires. -
Taken advantage of being in Colorado for work. Hiked about 8 miles at 10-11k Sat and another 8 at around 7k Sun. I've got a couple deer hunts to motivate me now.

What grain for 30-06?
Havasuhunter replied to backcountry_brad's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
165 or 180 will kill any black bear. My 30-06 likes 180s better. -
If you haven't scouted 100 days straight and quit your job to dedicate your time to this hunt, Don't even ask! 😅😅😅 Just kidding, hope some guys help you out. Congrats on drawing an awesome hunt.

That's a beautiful rifle. Good luck on the sale.

Canals can be awesome and close to home for a lot of people. I fish whatever water is near me when traveling. Small park ponds and canals can hold some real treasures.

My buddy drew the late Nov Coues hunt in 33. I drew a preference point again.

Do you see any stripers over 10lbs on Mead anymore? Seems like it's loaded with stunted stripers.

I knew that wouldnt last long.

No cameras in AZ, they are illegal and even if they were legal, most guys are too ethical to use them.

I got a buch of those pics in the chain email. I'm on the volunteer list to re-locate those sheep, just haven't been able to participate. Theyre moving them away from the mining operations. Not sure where they are being re-located to. Some just awesome pictures.

WTB Alliant Steel powder, steel shot, steel wads 12ga
Havasuhunter replied to Dave in AZ's topic in Classified Ads
Welcome to the site. I will keep my eyes open. Be interesting to see what results you come up with. You are welcome to any 3" hulls I shoot up this year too. I usually throw them away, but will start saving them if anyone wants them. I load lots of lead in 2 3/4 shells, but never messed with steel. -
270 I agree. The word Hater is just a cop out just like calling someone a racist. With separation of church and state, I hope anyone that tries to sue a church over this gets thrown out of court with laughter. Yes, there are some militant gay rights groups that may try it, but the law is to allow marriage under federal law. This should not effect a churches right to continue to believe whatever they believe and enforce there values. It will be interesting to see what comes of all of this to say the least.

As said before, I have gay family members and completely agree with you. So much energy is put into hating gays its amazing. You shouldnt put a lot of energy in to hating anything. I absolutely can not fathom what a man sees in another man, but what they do behind closed doors never has been and never will be my business. Most gay people just want to be excepted and fit into society the best they can. The guys I've been renting a room from in CO are a gay couple. They are very respectful, friendly people. They have been nothing but professional and respectful. I judge them by how they treat others, not by what they do in the privacy of their own home.

but have you ever tried it? I have to try it first before it becomes animal food. I know everyone says it's yucky, but have they actually tried it? Javi are supposed to taste gross, but don't.. Some people don't like duck, but I do. Frogs, turtles, elk, deer, snake = yummy. I'll try carp too at least once. I don't have smoker but I know someone who does. My cousin in Illinois sent me a picture of a spear he made and has been successful with. He uses the carp for dog food...lol. Maybe he doesn't have a smoker. Now to make my spear...lmao. I will be sure to attempt this endeavor when I have the water to myself. carp taste fine, they are just bony. Ive grilled and smoked them. They are not my favorite, but plenty edible. I dont eat them, because I have striper in my freezer at all times and usually some wild game, tuna and yellowtail. I dont feel I need to eat carp since they are non native and usually make up the largest biomass in most lakes. Thinning them out while feeding the native animals works for me.

I've stepped on about 10 different rattlers, never bit. They were all southern Pacifics in CA out in these hills I'd hunt coyotes and shoot ground squirrels with the 22. Think it was all the ground squirrel holes, huge population of those snakes out there. I was always wearing boots when I stepped on them and it was cold, so they didn't even try to strike. Still freaked me out. I'm not against killing them when they may harm people, but going out of your way to kill them way out in their natural habitat is not something I understand. The people that say kill every snake regardless of species are just flat ignorant and I don't mind calling those people ignorant. Hunters are supposed to be responsible stewards of the land. Killing every one of a certain critter you see for no other reason than you don't like how they look is beyond me.

This is how I prepare carp. 1. Shoot carp with fish arrow 2. Remove fish arrow 3. Throw carp on bank. This recipe is excellent, I haven't heard a single vulture, racoon or Coyote complain.

What the heck do piece of shoot terrorists and a wild animal have in common? If they are on my property or acting aggressive in a place that might get someone bit, I'll kill them. Otherwise I leave them alone.

That's what I figured. Good luck.

I have one that came off my Rem 700. Not sure of the specs. Make me an offer and it's yours.

Need head gaskets put on 2005 tacoma 4.0 V6
Havasuhunter replied to EagleEye's topic in Classified Ads
Oil in coolant will heat your truck up fast and deteriorate your hoses. Hopefully you'll be good to go for another 200k miles now. I've heard that's a strong motor. I've got an Older one with a 2.7 4 cylinder. Slow, but bulletproof. -

Buy yourself a FICM while your at it, if yours hasn't been replaced, it will need to be soon. Man Ford screwed the pooch with that 6.0 motor package.
