Ruger 77/44 magnum bolt action rifle for sale
Havasuhunter replied to Azshooter's topic in Classified Ads
Very cool rifles. I'm tempted since I have a 44 mag revolver, but better pass. Free bump for a great gun. -
I Just Got a Craving For Jimmy John's
Havasuhunter replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I might go there today. Screw these animal rights idiots that try to personally attack hunters and their business, cowardly using social media to sway the Sheeple. -

Carrying Extra Rounds in the Field
Havasuhunter replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I used to take 5-10 rounds, but with all the Crazys, drug runners etc I always have at least a box with me just in case I need them. I use the stock ammo carrier, butler creek I think, a full magazine and the rest go in my pack wrapped in paper towels or something to keep them from rattling. -
So is it or isn't it legal to leave cameras on national forest land? I know it's illegal in wilderness, but thought regular forest lands were legal? I'm glad the forest service is cleaning things up, but if it's not illegal it's messed up for them to touch it.

What hunt? We'll be there for the late Nov hunt.
-
Never been there. Is the water deep enough to run a small bass boat up there?
-
My buddy has that same tag. At least I get to go help on that one. I'll be working in Tucson all of Sept., so I'm hoping to get some scouting in while over there.

Personal Observation About Paddle Boards, Or Whatever You Call Them
Havasuhunter replied to PRDATR's topic in The Campfire
Crazy you even need those rules. Who wouldn't put a quality life jacket on their kids? I used to sell common sense for $5 a pound, now I can't give that stuff away! -
Can't wait to chase some quail!
Havasuhunter replied to AmericanThunder's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I can't wait. This should be a much better Quail year than the last few, I'm seeing huge numbers around here. -
No Sashimi this time, but he spoiled us with great food. Art used to work for me about 8 years ago. He's a good guy. Been on the OL for 5 years now I think. He goes out of his way to make much better food than most SD boats. Our second night he made Ribeyes with green beans and mash potatoes, it was excellent.

Good stuff. Can't blame him with this heat.

+1. 😂😂. That's my suggestion to everyone on the 4 wheelers.

Personal Observation About Paddle Boards, Or Whatever You Call Them
Havasuhunter replied to PRDATR's topic in The Campfire
Pretty sure a PFD is required for every person onboard any watercraft, boats, jet skis, kayaks, whatever. I always have one strapped on my kayak. -
More pics coming. These were just on my iPhone.

I've recently seen 22LR sitting on shelves in many places. Seems that the crisis is over most places. Maybe some local shops are still playing the hold back inventory game to jack up the profit?
-
Awesome. The Torres charter leaves for our 2 day this Tues night on the OL. Hope we do that well on Yellows and have a shot at the tuna. I'm putting new fluorocarbon top shot on the 2 speed this weekend, just in case. I'll report on our trip when we get back. Thanks for the report. 30lb yellowtail are hard to beat.
-
Totally agree. Illegals and weekend warriors are much worse, but hunters should be perfect. We are the ultimate stewards of the land we hunt. We must set an example for everyone.

I've pointed out to many that think Cecil was singing show tunes with the Zebras and turned vegetarian in their minds, that despite seeming tame to the tourists, I'm sure he had killed 100s of animals himself, including many lions. If I remember right, he will kill any Cubs that aren't his to remain the Pride Alfa male. Hope the bleeding hearts get to see some of that video.

Best rifle cartridge for open terrain - Unit 21 Whitetail hunt
Havasuhunter replied to Desert Rat's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
My 6.5 x 55 drops animals out past 500 yards with very little recoil. Any of the 6.5s are excellent for people that want low recoil combined with excellent trajectory. -
Outfitters are at fault for any legal activity. PETA has turned this into their baby. That dentist is going to lose everything over their lunacy. I've been blasting the heck out of my friends on Facebook, mostly Californians, that are on the anti Hunter band wagon. You don't here a peep from these people when 5 servicemen defending our country are killed. But they jump all over this lion story.
-
Thank you. I don't understand how "Leave no trace" is complicated to some people.

Only full frontal shots I'm a fan of are during Spring Break at Havasu. I say wait for a broadside or quartering shot, especially with archery tackle.

Some more of my buddies were out the last few days. Said tons of life everywhere but Tuna were extremely picky. Said the had 100lb class bluefin boiling all around them, but would not bite. Ended up with a bunch of small Dorado off a paddy, a 25lb white Seabass at point loma kelp and a few yellowtail. They only fished inshore for a short time after all day offshore and got that Seabass. Makes me wonder if that's a bite being missed because even the half day boats are out looking for tuna?
