Gun Control works I hear? *rolls eyes*
Havasuhunter replied to wyguy's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Liberals are the most condescending people you can deal with. They make up their minds with no knowledge or facts and look down on those who believe differently. That girl in WY that shot the intruders had the only type of gun control I'm interested in. -
Many good striper fisherman carry a surf rod in the boat. That's our side scan sonar. Kenny can throw the popper 70 yards on that thing with spectra. We can also throw way over buoy lines into water that is untouched by others. He was calling fish to the boat for me with it. We put an easy 100 fish in the boat that day. Biggest around 10 lbs. The river by Fort Mohave is still Havasu, we catch them right there too.

I am selling a new Ruger 10/22 for my buddy. He bought 2 of them when they were scarce and realized he doesn't shoot either. This one is matte with a Camo stock. He also has an Archangel stock new in plastic to go with it. One 225 round box of Rem 22LR and a Champion 25 round magazine. Not sure on the ammo and the 25 round mag has a price of $24.99 on it and it's still in the package. This gun is NIB and comes with the original box. Archangel stock sold. Asking $275 for gun, 25 round mag and ammo.

PM responded too. Thanks

I will be coming through Tucson and Phoenix today if anyone is interested. Talked to my buddy I'm selling the gun for. This is his bottom dollar. Gun, magazine and ammo $250. He paid $300 for the gun and its NIB unfired. Throwing in a 25 rd mag and ammo makes this a pretty solid value.

Went out Dovr hunting this morning. Saw some birds, missed two. Still had a good time, saw some other wildlife. Nearly stepped on this little guy. Could easily fit in the palm of my hand. Beautiful little rattlesnake. Just wondering which species it is? Thanks

2 stroke is nice for a small boat over a 4 strike because you can't lay a 4 stroke on its side too. More convenient for storage and transportation

"If it is legal then it is ethical"It's illegal on a wildlife refuge.

Lark, Apparently you don't get a lot of things. My post was about ID of a species. You and others jumped on the redneck, pound your chest "I kill every dang snake I see" bandwagon, do I responded. I said you guys that say kill every snake are A-holes. My point was, and I know you missed it so bear with me, is you don't have to kill every snake you see and on Refuges it is illegal, so I would have been a poacher if I killed that one. Where legal or where there is imminent danger to people, I will kill a "Venomous" snake. Non venomous snakes I always leave alone. I can remember killing 2 rattlesnakes. One was on our rig pad in UT last year and almost bit our Derrickhand. It crawled under a tank and I was enlisted to kill it to protect the workers. The other was an Eastern Diamond back that insisted on living under my pool deck in TN. Both presented an imminent danger to people. I will always respond to the blanket statement that all snakes should be killed because it is completely ignorant.

So much for know, respect and obey the laws.
-
I would have to agree. Looks like a baby western Diamond back. Thanks for the response.

On a National Wildlife Refuge it is illegal to kill any species not specifically listed. Not being the ethics police here, just following the law. If you kill a snake on a refuge, you are a poacher and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife wardens will ticket you. As a responsible Hunter I like to follow the law. If you illegally kill Wildlife, you are a poacher. Plain and simple. In areas where it's not a crime, knock your self out.

We were on a bad just south of Watford city that was overran with Pheasants. I would love to hunt them up there. Lots of Elk in the Badlands National park too, too bad they don't give out any tags. Used to have a small herd of Pronghorn right in town over by the Rec Center too. Wild place up there for sure.

I'm tempted to buy it now and I don't even have a little aluminum boat to put it on. Great little motor there for duck hunting and fishing small lakes and the lower River.

Williston was heck on earth when I was there. The infrastructure just couldn't handle it. I lived in Dickinson for a while. Didn't mind Dickinson at all, but I don't plan on ever living up there again unless it's the only place to get away from the Zombie Apocalypse! Just way too cold for me.

So, you are admitting you will kill snakes any time you see them, even if the are specifically protected? It's illegal to kill any snake in some states period because of that mentality. On any NWR in any state I believe all native species not listed under specific regulations are protected. Therefore, to kill that little snake would have made me a poacher. I'm not a poacher and I don't like it when others encourage people to poach or engage in it themselves.

You guys are making me miss North Dakota a little bit. The Pike fishing was insane this time of year and I miss seeing all the Huns, sharptails and Pheasant. Depending where my rig was, is see Pronghorn, whitetail and Mule deer almost every day too. Has the oilfield traffic calmed way down with the low oil prices? I'd imagine they've stacked most drilling rigs, but priduction has plenty of wells to maintain. We were mostly on the Rez outside of Killdeer.

You guys are A-holes that think every snake should be killed. By the way, this is on one of the wildlife refuges where only certain species are legal. Fish and wildlife specifically states that all other species are to be left alone. If a rattlesnake is near houses, park, launch ramp, etc where it poses a threat, I'll kill it. Otherwise I leave it to do what it does. They are part of the wild landscape as much as anything else. This is right along the Colorado River too, for species ID.

Very good advice. I've been researching there. My leveling kit was just to buy me time and let me put ATs on the truck before fall. I will eventually go with some sort of adjustable coilovers like on my Tacoma. So many options, it can get confusing.

I will be heading to Safford tomorrow for a couple days. I'll bring the gun with me if anyone is interested. Will be going through the Phoenix Metro area.

You must have a tiny head?

I fired 2 shots. Saw no white wings. Had several good flights of mourning doves but out of range. I was on a pass shooting spot. Switching spots tomorrow morning.
