Eating pretty good. Very sore from working hard on my rig the last week. Most upper body workout I've had in a while at work. No need to add other exorcise. If I can muster the energy, going to do a 3 mile run when I wake up tomorrow. Haven't weighed, but feel like I've lost a bit.

Great stuff. I love Probghorn. See them every day up here and it never gets old.

Had the RCBS for years. Works great, just sets 9 volt batteries. -

No interest in any AR types or really any semi auto of any type. I'm a bolt action guy. -

Still for sale. Make offers. No longer in the 15x bino market. Rifles, shotguns, 10x binos. I know someone needs a great all weather Elk thumper. -
Pinal mountain this weekend

+1 on that. Plenty of slob hunters that need to be monitored. They know who they are and get defensive when someone points out something wrong. Not only are they cheating, they are stealing from hunters that follow the rules. Thief is a thief, let's call them what they are. -
I have a nice BDL stock I'm going to sell, but it's a long action.

Bandtailed Pigeons

Squab and polenta my nor cal friends made was awesome. Mountain pigeons eating a wild diet are great. Cant be any worse than doves They are usually easy to glass because they like high spots with lots of 360 view. Peaks with snags, radio towers etc. as said above, actually killing them is a challenge. The other problem we had is they'd fall a 1/4 mile away with there flight speed, wind at there back and falling off steep slopes. Had to really plan our shots to maximize recovery. -
Had a house cat that was that happy to see me after I'd been gone a week or so. About 2 hours later she'd go back to biting and scratching me. A lion would scare the crap out of me no matter how much trust we'd developed.

Arrowed my first black bear!!!!!!
Havasuhunter replied to bowhuntaz1's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Great job getting a nice bear and making the best of it. It's unfortunate there are done really assholes out there that call themselves hunters. I hate the attitude many guys have, sure makes the rest of us look bad. -
Ran only once, but diet pretty good. Back at work on nights. Going to do another 3 miles when I wake up tomorrow afternoon. Push-ups, crunches and whatever else I can squeeze in tonight. I'll probably climb the stairs to the rig flor several times tonight, that'll help.

DOVE SEASON
Havasuhunter replied to elkaholic's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Wish I wad there. Save me some birds. For those that are wondering. Barn pigeons are just a bigger species of dove and I've found them to be fine to eat. Pretty cool some of you got into several species. -
Zones 145-150 is what one guy is telling me. I still need to talk to my guide friends. Hard to go wrong anywhere in WY.

Bandtailed Pigeons
Havasuhunter replied to 4Falls's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Use #6 shot and don't underestimate their speed. I've only hunted them in Nor cal on my buddies property, but they like to be near saddles and peaks with plenty of wind. They are very fond of radio towers way up on peaks too. Not sure what food source they are using where you will be hunting, sure that will be key. Seems they were always traveling about 50mph when we hunted them. -
got a bobcat and saw a good buck

That's a great looking buck. -
Don't let the terrorists terrorize you into not going. Just like when I'd hunt in CA around dangerous pot growing operations, I'd be well armed and stay well aware of your situation. Don't let these bastards change our way of life one bit. It's a sad world we live in when hunters hunting within the US have to worry about crap like this.

What falls? I've seen nice size desert Mulies in the refuges.

We went out on the new moon looking for flatheads, but only ended up with a few nice channels. Biggest was just under 16lbs. Bait was live bluegill. Messed around with small stripers before the sun set and caught a few of those too. Caught a bunch of baby smallies while getting bait too. Looks like they had a good spawn this year. Next day we threw some big swimbaits for a few follows, no biters. The gold one is a Producer Plug 10" glide bait. My buddy Kenny in the cat pictures makes those. The trout is a custom bait my friend Craig makes in San Diego.

Thanks guys. Calcutta is on an extra heavy Californian calico bass rod. My curado is on a Dobyns 807, which is an awesome big swimbait rod. My buddy is mostly fishing Okuma Komodo rods. All rods 8'

Just awesome. Makes me miss the Bighorn river in MT. -
I've seen some nice bucks walking down the middle of the street in Cody! Stayed there several weeks while we worked on the walmart. I contracted before working in the oilfield. The zones south of Jackson near the ID border are good. My friend killed a 190" mulie during general last year. There's a write up on Muleyfreak.com about it.

I have friends that guide in WY, I'll ask what they'd do with 7 bonus points.
