Since I've posted this I've mostly cut out sugar, dairy and gluten. Probably 75% compliance. I'm down 30lbs now and ready to tackle the tough hunts. Thanks for the input everyone.

I did insanity at home. I just get better results going to a set class where trainers push you. I also do travel WODS while in the road, but going to the gym is much more effective. Insanity and other Shaun T stuff is good, but Crossfit has been much better for me.

I now workout at Havasu Cross fit. Best thing I've done in years for my health. Fitter, leaner, faster and stronger than in many years. You always here that first rule BS from non crossfit people. Yes, some people are obsessed, but what I can tell you is its the same as any good thing. Your friends see a great movie, what do they do? They tell you about it! They eat at a great restaurant, what do they do? They tell you about it! It's been life changing for me because of the time effectiveness and lack of personal planning, I don't have to sit and think up workouts. I show up and in 1 hour I'm done! If you go and even put in moderate effort you will see fantastic results.

No fad. You eat real food. No processed BS. I'm down 30lbs, stronger than ever and ready to attack the fall hunting season.

I drew Dec unit 33 whitetail and a late season mule deer tag in CA.
-
Installing network cabling, security cameras, etc is what I do. Costco, Sams club etc have several systems that are packages you can easily install yourself.

Good luck. 33 is looking beautiful right now. I've been working in Tucson.

Rifle hunt during Dec archery hunt
Havasuhunter replied to northAZarcher's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I wouldn't do it. -
Had a G1 tag for Northern CA. It's a migration hunt and it was way too hot for the deer to migrate out of Lassen National Park. Hunted hard for local deer for 4 days. Glassed up a bunch of does, but neither of us could connect with a buck. Switched gears today and salvaged my trip with a nice wild hog. Good sized spotted sow. Also killed a coyote so my 270 could draw first blood. At least i'm heading home with an ice chest full of pork.

Leupolds Warranty service department. Outstanding!
Havasuhunter posted a topic in Optics and tripods
I sent in an old pair of wind river Cascades because the right lens was fogged to ask if they could repair them. Instead they just sent me a brand new 2015 pair of Leupold Cascades! The new ones are better than the old ones when they were new! I had seriously abused those old ones and they had to be 10 years old. Outstanding customer service from an outstanding company. Brian -
G1 deer hunt turned in wild hog hunt.
Havasuhunter replied to Havasuhunter's topic in Other Big Game
There is decent pig hunting on public land, but most is on private land. Tehama county on BLM land near the Sac river gives you a decent opportunity at wild hogs. I would surely combine it with a deer hunt though to maximize travel time and chance of success. Either that or go during spring Turkey, a Salmon run or some other season. Betting on wild hogs on public land is a tough one. Brian -
G1 deer hunt turned in wild hog hunt.

We saw 10 pigs and a really nice buck today. My buddy has access to a great property. Saw about 20 turkeys too. -
Anybody ever own a western field rifle?
Havasuhunter replied to creed_az_88's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have an old embers term field bolt action 22 that is one of my favorites. -
Drunk driver the night before? Didn't want to report it until sobered up? Seems like they would have had it towed earlier, otherwise. That's pretty scary hitting a bull elk.

Hunting on a Clean vs Fouled Bore (continued)
Havasuhunter replied to rossislider's topic in Long Range Shooting
270 I'm using next week on a hunt definitely likes it dirty. Groups tighten up after 5 rounds or so right after a cleaning. -
One state farther from California probably helps.

Got back home Friday. We fished Wed and Thurs. bite was very tough. Lots of fish on the sidescan and down sonar, but they were very boat and line shy. I had a good trip though because I caught a nice Dorado and one of the Tuna was my largest Yellowfin ever. It was in that 55-60lb range and took 45 minutes to land since we all dropped to 25lb flouro to get bit.

The Wahoo trip in the Legend is now a, um a Legend! Amazing the stuff showing up in CA waters. Just wish I had the ability to not work all of Oct with hunting, etc. the River Striper bite has been insane luckily to keep me occupied, but Wahoo is on my bucket list. I've caught smallmouth to 4lbs, largemouth to 6lbs and stripers to 10lbs in the last week to ease the pain.

Any toyota mechanics out there? 4x4 sensor issue I think
Havasuhunter replied to apache12's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I've had rats chew stuff up on mine, but never had any lights come on or anything. I'll be interested to see what you find out. I've never seen anything like that on any of my Toyotas. http://www.tundratalk.net/forums/#/forumsite/20555 -
Amazing!

Good stuff. What unit?

I didn't get emails either, but mine went through.

Only picture he sent me, but thought you guys interested in black tails would like to see it. I've hunted that propert for years, never seen this nice a buck. I'm heading up for my G1 hunt in a couple weeks.

Cool. We get some funny looks from when people see the surf rod.😃 Your section of the river is a good place to throw a big popper early in the morning.
