Bullet grain for 30-06
Havasuhunter replied to joelpresmyk8's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Shoot what is more accurate too. My 06 doesn't like most 150 bullet, but shoots 165 and 180 great. It like 180 Barnes triple shocks of I remember right. Been a while, I mostly shoot my 6.5. -
Where are you located?

Is this someone baiting? (Pictures)
Havasuhunter replied to Coues assassin's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
It's a grow. Carry more than a sidearm. -
I think you are asking for trouble hunting deer with a 223. The round is very capable with perfect shot, perfect bullet, etc. what zone? How close can you get are all important questions. A wounded deer is a much worse experience for a new Hunter than no shot at all.

Wild turkey is good. Just like most game it's just way less fatty.

Great job, that's a nice coyote. Congratulations. -
Need opinions on a new sidearm

Ruger LCR or SP101 depending on what size and weight you want. -
Get a tundra. Not 3/4 ton, but very heavy duty 1/2 ton. I have a 2013 5.7 motor, 6 speed auto is just an awesome drivetrain. I'm sure I'll get flamed by the ford, dodge and Chevy guys, but that's my opinion and I've had every truck made either myself or as a work truck for a company Ive worked for. After all is said and done, I now own a Tacoma and a Tundra.

I've been at work. Diet needs work, but getting plenty of excorcise. Throwing 50lb sacks of chemical. Rigging up and down equipment. Lots of moving heavy hoses, etc. no running this time, which bums me out. I'll be getting miles in chasing quail on days off.

Winchester model 69a bolt action .22 circa 1937- 1963 REDUCED

I have one of those. Excellent shooters. -
I've seen them from the highway. You'll find true feral pigs look a whole lot different after a few generations in the wild. I've killed several in TX and have private property I can hunt in Nor Cal anytime I want. I killed a nice 300lb boar on the Nor Cal place. Fun with the handgun, those things are tough.

My cousin is helping an outfitter guide Elk hunters in the Wind a River Range and a few other places this year. He said they had a very close call with a Grizzly recently.

Havasu wildlife refuge has a lot, but you can't hunt them. The wildlife manager has allowed hunts before but said they were not effected.

From Table to Able: Combating Diseases with food
Havasuhunter replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Hunting Fitness
I feel so much better when I juice in the mornings. Pain in the butt, but worth the effort. I need a better juicer to make it easier. -
Due to lack of judgement by our managers we are in desperate need of hiring several people for the UT and WY areas. Job is 2 weeks on 1 week off and pays well. It's outdoor work in all weather, mostly technical, but often physical. You will operate a wide variety of equipment. If anyone is interested PM me and I will give you the details.

Drilling. We do solids control and other rental equipment.

Pics hadn't loaded yet. Definitely elk. I could easily see them living along the river.

Some very bad info all around here. If an elk was spotted near Blythe, I would guess it migrated from the Alamo lake herd and is on the Cibola wildlife refuge which would make a wayward elk quite happy. More than likely it was a deer, tons of them there. Many of my CA friends don't know the different between an elk, caribou, moose or deer. CA is the only state in the country with 3 species of elk. Tule Elk, smallest species of elk in the country with totally different antlers. A 500 lb bull with a 300" rack is a big one. We killed a 320 class bull a few years back. Roosevelt Elk which get huge, but not giant racks. Rocky Mountain elk just like the ones in AZ. CA has great elk hunting if you ever can draw a tag. I killed a tule cow years ago, only tag I ever drew.

I rarely hunt with anyone else. That includes backcountry trips. Just a matter of my oilfield schedule never lining up with other peoples schedule. I am hunting with a buddy of mine that just got his hunters safety opening day of quail. Looking forward to it.

Nice boat.

Nice. Glad you got into them. Great pictures and report. Skipjack are outstanding(as catfish bait). I love all those other fish on my plate. Still eating yellowfin from my trip in early Aug.

Havasuhunter replied to Big Browns's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
You'll run into Huns in some areas your hunting Probghorn up there. Good luck. If I go work in Casper I may get out and hunt a little this fall. -
Anyone hunt Arizona Chucker?
Havasuhunter replied to Big Browns's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I hunt wild birds in the Mojave national preserve and other spots on the CA side. Would like to find them on the AZ side but the strip and other spots they've been reported are actually a farther drive for me. I already have a Commi fornia license because I hunt both sides of the river and make a trip to NorCal every year. -
Quail season is coming
Havasuhunter replied to Coues assassin's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I'll be out there. Quail is one of my favorite seasons. I always hunt without dogs. I've taken limits a few times. Taken many chuckar limits in CA with no dogs. That's a workout! I really enjoy later in the season when it's cooler and you can hike all day.
