    How common is it . . .

I'm sure there are a lot of guys that do it. Poaching is much more common than people think. For a lot, it's how they were brought up. The my family has always done that justification. I'd be really happy to kill one deer this year with bow or gun.

    Jumping the string?

If you've never made a bow kill, you may be only practicing and ranging on flat ground. Remember if shooting uphill or downhill, your arrow will fly high. That's why the rangefinders have that angle compensation. It sounds simple but many forget that during the hunt, including me.

    Duck Jerky??

I've had some a meat processor made out of a mixture of duck and geese and it was great.

    Jumping the string?

I've shaved the bristle hairs on ones back before!:-) Can't find one to release an arrow on this year.

Nice. Please PM me the GPS coordinates of that spot!😄 Heading back out tomorrow where I found good sign. It's encouraging seeing everyone's success.

    Hunting near mining claim?

As said, they have mineral rights, that's it. The assumption that they have any more rights to the land is one of the many things wrong with this country. On the Jonah field in WY, there are drilling rigs, work over rigs and active well sights everywhere. It's BLM so as long as you don't interfere with operations, damage equipment or put someone in danger you are legal to hunt. I've seen guys bowhunt pronghorn right between two drilling rigs that are only a half mile apart. If miners have a different mentality, then maybe take it up with the agency giving them the permits. If it's BLM, a visit to your local BLM office should be able to tell you about the claim and what rights the owner has, etcetera.

    SNOW DAY!

    Nice.

    pigs on ice.

I tried today. Found good Javi sign, but no pigs. High temp was 37 where I was. Not good weather for a tropical animal. Hoping to kill an archery pig myself. I also have a HAM tag for a different zone in feb. If the arrow doesn't find one, the 44 mag should in 5 weeks.

    Hunting near mining claim?

If it's public land, I would guess you are fine unless you jump his claim and start mining.

    2015 javelina down!

Congrats. Nice to get it done opening day. I glassed deer and found lots of pig track, but released no arrows today. Back at it tomorrow.

    Ethics

+1. Exactly the way I feel. Anything left out to "claim" a spot is a dick move. If your at home, all your crap should be at home with you. Don't spoil it for others by leaving stuff out there. I leave no trace, so a spot you think your claiming by leaving a stand or a camera may be a spot Ive been watching for months, you'd just never know it.

    Ethics

Yep, there is no law keeping you from walking right up on someone right in the middle of a stalk or on a stand, it's just good ethics to not do that. I try to avoid conflicts with other hunters and non hunters at all costs. But some people get all territorial and think they own public land. They are correct, they do own it, as do I and every other US citizen.

    Ethics

Don't use game cameras and if you do, set up in a place so far back, no one in their right mind would set up except you. Flame on guys! I can take it! Just kidding. It all comes down to first come, first serve the day of the hunt. On public land it resets every day. Just the way it is. Setting up before the hunt, putting up cams on public land gives you no more right to a spot than the guy that just drove in from West Hollywood for his mid life crisis first hunt.

    2015 archery deer tags

Game and fish office is your best bet. Bought mine back in Dec when I picked up my Javi tags.

    Mexican fan tail myth?

I've filmed them several times, one was even being attacked by a Chupracapra. They often feed in the same areas as the spiny 3 toed Unicorn, which I've also filmed. All my footage disappears when I go to view it though. I guess it's the fan tails and Unicorns using their magic against me?

    Value of rifle needed

At $45 a box, you can gather some reloading equipment and save money fast. Plus the 257 Roberts is an awesome cartridge that is way better with reloads than factory ammo. I can't imagine not reloading rifle cartridges with today's prices on factory ammo.

    Gamble quail ???

They run all over Town in Havasu, but tough outside city limits where you can actually hunt. I've found Gambels in rolling areas, but mostly in washes with heavy cover bordering. You'll find Valley quail over in CA in rolling hills for the most part. If you hunting Gambels in rolling terrain with no holding features and you don't have a dog it's very possible coveys are hurst running out in front of you and vanishing into cover. I listen close for chatter, watch you track and always glass up ahead to see if they are running out front.

They on the Kids Muzzy hunt?

    Gamble quail ???

Hunting Quail this year is definitely a gamble whether your hunting scaled, Gambels or Valley quail, numbers are way down this year. I found some Gambels that thought they were Chuckar the other day, they ran straight up the steepest nastiest hills possible and I was 1.5 miles from the road in wilderness!

    Snake Boots

I think mine are Rockys. Theyre heavy Cordora and pretty comfortable, but I usually just wear leather boots. Snake boots sure give you confidence is tall grass that's spooky to walk through otherwise.

    River Stripers

I will take a big brown over a big striper, but I do love stripers! I have a friend in Kingman who would love to learn how to catch some big Stripers. If you ever need a partner let me know. Post up some more pictures of the big Stripers. Adam Does your friend in Kingman hunt? We could do a trade a trip . I agree. I love catching huge Carp! I'm hoping to find a 35 pound+ this spring for the wall. Carp on they flyrod is a passion of mine. My biggest carp is 30lbs caught on a spinning rod and 4lb line fishing a crayfish imitation. To 10lbs on the fly rod, hoping to do a little of that this coming spring.

    River Stripers

Been doing pretty well on the stripers. Two of us caught a bunch yesterday on 8" Producer Plug Glide baits and 8" S wavers. Also got them on 5" Shad colored paddle tails and a 1/2oz head.
