Seems there are a lot of people that are confused between having your stuff out during a hunt and leaving stuff out for weeks or months at a time. The latter is the same as driving out and dumping your trash. More the population grows, the bigger the problem will become. I will never back down online or in person fighting to instill a leave no trace mentality into people. It's matters for the future of our public lands and especially hunting access. I've got no time for the,"it's all about me" hunters. The types that leave 20 stands out, put trailers in spots way in advance of the hunt, illegal baiters, etc. I'm sure I'll get attacked on this because I know some of those types are on this site.

It is sad though you can't leave a camp site anymore without having to worry. Recently friends of mine had there ice chests full of food, water and beer stolen and I know a lot of others have had similiar problems. Years ago you could leave your camp site all day and not even consider someone steeling your stuff. Nowadays the percentage of people you can truly trust is at an all time low. It's really sad. More reason to hunt as far back in the wilderness as possible. Less people I encounter the better.

The #1 outfit should be something that can handle 20lb line with a good drag. On a day trip, I like to have 15,20,30 to start with. Depends on type of trip, species and size.

If you paid for it, leave it on your property! Not ours! Got no problem with blinds, stands, etc that are in recent use, but when your done take your stuff with you. Being a good person means leaving no trace and not spoiling the outdoors for others. One thing I'm concerned with is PR for hunters. The more stuff that can be traced to hunters and left as trash, the more we look bad as a group. There are a lot of Forest Service employees that are antis and you know they are keeping track of it. I got a total attitude from a women in CA one time at a Ranger station when trying to get a deer tag signed off. That was years ago and the first time I really realized the battle we are fighting. They are infiltrating BLM, fish and Wildlife, and many other agencies. Keep leaving shoot out in the woods and watch access continue to get attacked. It's really bad in CA and a AZ will be right behind.

It's great Hornet powder.

No, but it's hard to go wrong for hogs in TX.

Wish I could make it. Been meaning to run over to Alamo. Busy and my boats back in the shop unfortunately.

Seaforth Sportfishing has good boats and parking is way easier. Boats are getting yellowtail on short trips right now. I recommend going to all the landings sites and looking at fish counts. What's your experience and what tackle do you have? That will make a dig fence on what you'll want to choose. I have friends fishing the saltwater bass tourneys that are always on top of the inshore stuff. Landings are point loma, fishermans landing, H&M, Seaforth, etc. Even with a good bite going on, you'll have no trouble getting on a boat this time of year. Fred hall show is coming up too, be fun to time it to go to the show and some charters offer deals at the show. Show one day, fishing the next.

I'm looking to get something with a decent bathroom shower too, since I will using full hookups and taking showers after working all day. Just wanted to add that. Definitely would like to here opinions on what people like and dislike as regards to that. Most are fairly standard when it come to stove and sink, etc I think? The other concern is the generator when not on hookups? My motor home always smelled like exhaust when running it. My cousins 70+K toy hauler did the same. I'd love to find a Unit I can run the generator and not fill the living quarters with exhaust smell. I'm almost thinking a removable gen that rolls into the garage so it can be ran down wind when in use as opposed to an onboard unit, but I know they are a high theft item and that could pose a problem.

I have a 2013 Tundra with a 5.7 motor, tow package, etc. I'm looking to get a trailer I can tow to job sites and use on hunts. Love to here some opinions. I think it needs to be a toy hauler just for putting tools, ladders, etc in the garage if nothing else. 1. What trailers do you all use with your half ton trucks? Opinions? Likes, dislikes, etc? 2.anyone have anything for sale that would fit my needs? 3. Hitches, rear sway bars, etc. Likes, dislikes, what is necessary? I had a 1 ton diesel and just hooked up and towed whatever I wanted. I know I need to pay attention to detail a little more with a half ton for safety and to not tear up the truck. Thanks in advance. I Could be buying a nice trailer for what im spending on motels per month, so I'm pretty motivated.

2014 Coues Deer Kill Distances Poll
Havasuhunter replied to Little Creek Calls's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
My two Coues 330 and 540. My cousins I helped with a few years back was 370. I prefer to get much closer on any animal, but it is what it is. -
Rained all day yesterday in Havasu. I drove to Bakersfield for work this week last night and it rained the entire drive and almost all night in Bakersfield. Hoping it was all heading to AZ. Good steady soaking rain. The washes weren't flowing but seemed to be soaking in. This is the second Sun in a row it rained my whole way through the Mojave National preserve. Should be really good for the wildlife. I'd love to have the Quail and Chukar rebound to pre drought numbers. Let it rain!

DELETE - Gun Safe Clean Out - SOLD
Havasuhunter replied to Devil Diver Down's topic in Classified Ads
Does the mosberg have a standard length stock? Also, how old is it? Alloy receiver or steel receiver? if someone buys a 26" barrel with chokes that's a great combo gun. Use to have an older one. -
Biggest pig I've seen in the wild was about 300lbs. Biggest Javelina looked to be 40-50lbs, but I missed! I've seen herds of Javelina when deer hunting from tiny little guys to full size. Without reference of them side by side, it would be really tough to tell. Cool Javi, I'm not really thinking size matters much on them. Smaller is easier to carry.

Awesome

Nice. Is be really interested if I had my 1 ton still.

Such a shame there has to be "campaigns" to keep the outdoors clean. Amazing how worthless a lot of people are. Glad there are groups stepping it up cleaning up the messes.

Cool. Congrats

Congrats. What caliber are you shooting in the contender? I only have a 375 JDJ in carbine configuration now. Sold all my pistol barrels. Thinking about getting another 12-14", maybe 6.5 TCU since I have a bunch of 223 brass and 6.5 bullets.

My uncle kills roosevelts in Oregon with a 30-30 all the time. Not sure what load he's using though. Keeps shots under 100 yards.

I see the pics of inside now, just slow to load on my phone I guess.
