Got out with my buddy Matt Sat night. Too hot to fish during the day. Fished from 9pm to 1:30 AM. Total count 10 stripers and 3 largemouth. Biggest striper was about 9 lbs on a 7" swimbait.

Decent long range scope is going to cost you $800+.

16A because I live in it. The other cool thing about 16A is you rarely have to clean any game but get a tremendous amount of exorcise looking for them.

Who cares. Let them get married. They're living together anyway. Maybe they won't march in the streets with there rainbow flags as much. I have a cousin who is a lesbian, her and her wife raise their kids as well as anyone else or better. The don't force a gay agenda on anyone and they teach there kids not to judge others. I just don't see how this actually affects anyone else, but the gay couples. None of my dang business just like it's none of their dang business which guns I own.

Went out this morning and it was sloooow. Landed one striper about 3lbs. May have to cheat next trip and bring the anchovies.

Need head gaskets put on 2005 tacoma 4.0 V6
Havasuhunter replied to EagleEye's topic in Classified Ads
You could put new head gaskets on and do a valve job on that motor for 3K, that's ridiculous. I'd be checking a lot of different things over head gaskets for the problem your having. Do you have oil in your coolant, coolant in your oil or a loss of compression in any cylinder? -
We caught a 7lb largemouth Sat night after the tourney on a deep crankbait. Crazy when there is a killer frog bite and deep crank bite at the same time. I'd still like to get over to Lake Mary, the hottest part of the year is my least favorite time to live on Havasu. That Flagstaff summer weather is hard to beat.

Backpacking in border units?
Havasuhunter replied to REDFIELD11's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
What are you guys talking about? Our great federal government has everything under control. I feel totally safe anywhere I go near the border. Yeah right! You have to take some of the same precautions in the Back Country in Northern CA, the cartel grows a lot of weed up there and will kill you to protect it. Pretty sad situation. -
Hit me up sometime. I'll take you out if I'm around. You have a really good chance at a 7-9lber on any given day at Havasu. That seems to be our top end year class right now. There are much bigger fish in the lake of course, but there are schools of them from little guys up to that size fish. Our average fish is about 4lbs right now. My biggest this year was 13, but I've lost a couple over 20 already. You also have a great shot at s 4-5lb large or smallmouth or a giant channel cat. Can't wait until we get past this summer heat and boat traffic. This fall will be epic with the quality and numbers of fish in the lake.

I may have to take you up on this. I need to lose at least 20lbs by hunting season. I've had no beer at all for a couple weeks, I think beer and other alcohol were my biggest barrier. I used to be in really good shape, but never was too strict on the diet. As you get older, the diet matters more than anything it seems. If you would, please send me anything that might get me over the hill and eating better.

Kayaks are much more stable than canoes because of the design and center of gravity.

I prefer a sit on top for sure, gives me lots of storage and piece of mind that at least everything in the hull is protected if I flip it. I can get on and off mine in deep water, which is impossible with a sit inside. Here's a couple pics from Havasu, there's a lot of Kayakers out here in the winter. The Bill Williams wildlife area and Mesquite bay both have kayak launch Ramps and no wake or no power boat zones. I highly recommend the Bill Williams area in the winter. It's a kayakers patadise.

I used to fish the Alamo all the time. Caught some 30-40s out of there. I heard it sucks now, but you never know. If you go target them PM me and I'll tell you some spots. We used to C&R them because that place is nasty. Those are the most bright flouresant yellow flatheads Ive ever seen. Thats a place they prefer tilapia too.

one of my friends took 4th or 5th, they won it last year. Sounds like the frog bite had been really good, thats a lot of fun. My bass boats livewell sucks or I might enter some of these tourneys. Mostly night fishing for stripers now for me with this heat. Gongrats on 19th, I know there are a lot of really good fishermen out there and many are local.

I was just jabbing you a little on the Green Sunfish. I know there are many common names for different species in different parts of the country. In TN they call stripers rockfish, like on the East coast, white bass Stripe, and Yellow bass yeller stripe. I caught a 42lber on a green sunfish here at Havasu myself, but always find bluegill to be better. Tilapia are only legal below Parker dam, so haven't used them here, but on the lower river they are the hottest bait. Bullheads make a great bait in waters that have them too, flatheads suck them down like they are starving. AZ has some of the best catfish fishing ive seen anywhere in the country. Its amazing some of the states farther east have any with the commercial fishing, trotlines, jug lines, limb lines, etc. Ive heard the Salt river lakes are really good, if they are anything like the CO river, I believe it. Besides the flatheads we catch some monster channels here too. Its very common to get bit while flathead fishing and catch a 10-20lb channel. Good fishing, Brian

Anyone on the site help with the Morenci sheep capture this last weekend. I wanted to go, but its over 6 hours away and I just barely got back from CO working. Looks like a lot of fun and very educational. Not sure where they are taking those sheep, but im sure it will be a good boost to the genetics to some of the other herds. Brian

I've caught 90% of mine on green ear sunfish. They are soft compared to bluegill and the flatheads seem to prefer them. Small carp are awesome, but difficult to catch. You do know there is not such thing as a green eared sunfish right? I use all panfish, green sunfish, bluegill, redear, tilapia, etc. Anything that is legal. I've found Tilapia to be the best on the lower river were they are legal.

My 6 yr olds tackle box and pics of his 1st al nighter on the water :)

Good stuff! -
I love chasing big flatheads. Caught a few in the 40s. Haven't broke the 50lb barrier yet, but my buddies have. Two of my buddies have fish over 60 now. We fish with bluegill and live carp. When I can find love carp that's my favorite bait by far. Catching them small enough is the problem. I like 8-12" carp for flatheading.

Bob,Where are you in ND? I slayed multi species everywhere I went up there. Pike are the most numerous though, caught those things everywhere. Really good trout and salmon fishing on the Garrison tail race too. Nice video guys, makes me want to hit Lake Mary. Be nice to get away from this Havasu heat for a while.

WTB UGLY STIK TIGER ROD/REEL SPINNING COMBO
Havasuhunter replied to curtis25's topic in Classified Ads
Spinning or casting? I have a 7' 12-30lb rated Ugli stick tiger with a Quantum GW80 spinning combo I'll sell for $60 for both, that is if you can get over to Havasu. It's a great saltwater, catfish or bigger striper combo. I keep it around for people that can't use a baitcaster, but would like it to find s new home. -
I should. Shock almost killed me twice. I now live in AZ because of my allergies. The southeast is like poison to me. It's nothing to mess with. Doesn't matter how good a shape you are in, it will take you out if not prepared.

ATTN Dove Hunters Walmart has 2015 Migratory Bird Stamps
Havasuhunter replied to PRDATR's topic in The Campfire
I'm excited for Dove season. Hoping to actually be home and not on the road like the last several seasons. We are covered up in white wings this year too.
