Those were a limited run, worth almost double what you're asking. I have the same pistol in nickle, shoots awesome!
-
I'm interested. Where do you live?
-
That's for a 660, yes?
-
Yes, I'm interested. Is everything there, I.e hangars and mount to OEM muffler? How much do you want for it? Any holes in the muffler can?

You are correct, they are 10X40. I have corrected the add. As you stated they still make them and they are still great glass! Bump

FS: Swarovski Traditional 10x40 and Nikon Monarch Laser 800
Whitetailcurse posted a topic in Classified Ads
I have for sale a pair of used Swarovski 10x40 traditional rubber armored porroprism binoculars and a Nikon Monarch laser 800 rangefinder. The binoculars were my fathers and are at least 20 years old. They come with a neck strap and tripod adapter which are affixed to the binoculars in the pictures. The range finder is newer but is at least eight years old. Both are in great condition. I'm asking $800 obo for the binoculars and $200 obo for the rangefinder. Please feel free to give me a call at (940)257-7475 or shoot me a message. Thanks, Orion -

It appears to be a king snake with very dark markings. If you look closely in the picture, you can see slight yellowing indicating king snake. My first guess would have been a black racer, but since you don't live in the Southeastern U.S., it's probably not that. Snake is harmless to humans and beneficial in eliminating mice/rats.

WTB Vortex Kaibab HD 15x56 or Zeiss Conquest 15x56
Whitetailcurse replied to SEAZCoues's topic in Classified Ads
Give the guy at Cameral Land Inc. in New York a call 866-9optics. He has Zeiss and Vortex demo pairs for a couple hundred off new sticker price. Also Texasbinoman.com has Swarovskis, Zeiss, and Leicas once in a while for a great price. -
When I was growing up, my father was a member of the Phoenix Varmint Callers. I had fond memories of our summer PVCI camps and frequent predator calling trips and tournaments. One of the rules in the PVCI was that you could not use electronic calls during tournaments. So, my father spent many years teaching me to use hand calls. I perfected the art and can say with pride that I have taken many predators using hand calls. I agree that the electronic callers have come a long way in quality and ease of use, and there is certainly an advantage for the hunter, but are you honestly a skilled hunter if all you do is place a speaker in a bush and hit play? Opinions?

Optics: Swaro 12x50EL's or 15x56

Try not to laugh too hard, but you might consider getting a golf range finder. They are often cheaper because they aren't camo, but they are designed to range golf flags at a couple hundred yards. I have the Bushnell Elite 1500 and it ranges anything under 1000 yards with no problems. My buddy has the Bushnell Pinseeker, and gets the same results.

Oh, and I'm sure your Ithica is a reliable shooting gun, but I use the Remington Super Mag w/3.5" chamber. Turkey's don't stand a chance out to 50 yards with super full turkey choke.
-
I've been hunting turkeys for 20 years and my favorite load has been a tie between #5's and 4X6 duplex loads. Favorite loads in #5 is the Federal w/ flight control wads. I believe Remington is the only company that sells the 4x6 duplex if you can even find them. -Orion

Are 15X's that much of an advantage

When I started glassing, my first pair of optics was a pair of Kahles 10x42's. Although they were superb optics with great clarity, I found it difficult to pick out beded animals or animals in thick cover. When trying to spot an animal in thick cover, a twitch of an ear or slight turn of its head can be a vital clue, and a pair of 15x56 binoculars will absolutely catch the movement as long as you're not trying to spot something a mile off. If you're only looking for animals standing out in the open, then it won't matter too much which power you go with. I guess it really depends on how much walking you want to do. A powerful pair of optics will save you some walking, but your field of view will be rather small and it might take you a while to pick apart a hillside. I now use my 10x42's for spot and stalk, but I use my 15x56's primarily for glassing. Oh, and I just recently purchased a pair of Swarovski SLC 15x56s, but I was using a pair of Brunton's Eterna's for a few years. For a starter pair, I was plenty happy with them and found plenty of bucks and even a flock of Gould's turkeys one year. -
Yep, Edge is right. AZ Game and Fish law A.R.S 17-305 states " the possesion of a legal weapon, devices, ammunition or magazine, which are not authorized to take wildlife, is not prohibited while hunting if the weapon or device is not used to take wildlife." However, you may recieve some odd looks and probing questions if you run into a warden. -Orion

Kyle44K, I just had a friend of mine do a test of the two binoculars you are interested in and he says he could barely tell a difference between the Swarovski and the Vortex. However, I agree that if you did a little shopping, you could find a nice used pair of Swarovski's for $1300ish. There is a used bino dealer in Texas that sells Swarovski 15x56 for $1350. His website is www.texasbinoman.com. Unfortunately, Cabelas does not have the Vortex on sale anymore. I tried to buy a pair a few weeks ago and they canceled my order a few days later because they weren't getting any more in. If you want the best, go with Swarovski. If you don't care about owning a "Ferarri", go with the Vortex. Great warranty with both companies. -Orion

Whitetailcurse posted a topic in Classified Ads
I'm looking for a pair of 15x56 Swarovski's on a budget. I've got $1300 to spend. I was hoping someone would have an older pair they were able to part with. *****No longer looking for Swarovski's. Bought a pair from Kelly. Thanks!****** -
Okay, lots of great info in the posts. But, picking out of the two, Zeiss 15x56HD or Vortex 15x56HD?

Smoking deal on Vortex Kaibab 15x56 binos
Whitetailcurse replied to Lv2hnt's topic in Classified Ads
Yep, they've officially pissed me off. Cabelas canceled my order yesterday too, and they are still showing the sale price on their website! Why would they neglect to take the binoculars off their website if they're not for sale anymore? Cabelas is not what they used to be. Oh well, looks like I'm purchasing new optics elsewhere......
