Big Thanks to .25-06 (Terry) for the New Hunting Pups
bgshooter replied to lancetkenyon's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Nice pics Lance. What camera is that? -
Wish I had the money. I'm a couple years away to being able to put money aside into top of the line glass (family first). Will have to make due with the Nikon Prostaff I picked up on sale last year . Bump for a good price.

It'll be my first time this year as well...first antler I see will be shot at...

Nice story and pics. I wouldn't mind going coyote hunting one day. Once I learn, my kids will most definitely be coming out with me soon after.

Wow. 47 years. Big congrats to Old Buck. Hope you enjoy the hunt and get a good one. I agree that the lottery for this hunt can definitely be improved. Instead of putting x1 extra name in the hat per point, how about something like this: 2 pts = 2 names (0.0017%) 3 pts = 4 names (0.0033%) 4 pts = 8 names (0.0067%) etc...maxing out at 15 pts = 16384 names (13.65%) So after 15 pts\years of waiting, you'll have 13.65% chance of being drawn every year you put in. If I (and probably most people in AZ) knew I had to wait 10 years before my name is put in the hat, I probably wouldn't even try...which may sound good to a lot of people in this forum. But not good for $$$ going to AZG&F which means they would never go with that idea. But if I had a chance when I draw the first time, then I would give it a try. Point is, ideas which decrease the amount of $ that AZG&F will receive will never fly. Anyways, just a thought from a rookie hunter. Edit: BTW, the % I put down was based on 120,000 applicants. I thought I saw that number somewhere in this thread but didn't bother to double check. But point is, those that have more points should get more than just x1.

Adam is a great guy. First one to help me out when I was new to this forum and was looking for a good place to do some dove hunting.

I signed up this morning and it was easy. Hoping that they'll give more features down the line...like showing what you're drawn for after you've been drawn and funds have been pulled from your ccard.

Nice pics. Can't wait to know what unit I was drawn for so I can put my cams out. I tested both of them on my family and dog and I didn't realize how often my dog walks in and out of his crate throughout the night. Lol

After getting the news (yesterday) that I'm deer hunting this year, finally got myself committed to getting my body ready for the hikes. Luckily, I started monitoring what I was eating last week (prior to knowing I was hunting). Last night after sunset, went out with my dog to the park and went up and down the hills for about 45 minutes. I'm feeling it now so I know I worked some muscles I haven't worked on for a while. Plan on doing this on a daily basis along with morning push-ups, sit-ups and stretching.

I love my model 60. Will be handed down to my older son as soon as he graduates from the Crickett. This is a great price too.

Going on my first deer hunt. Can't wait to know where and do some scouting...
-
Gave up Friday after I didn't see a hit on my card. Didn't even bother to check all day Saturday. Woke up this morning and checked just the the heck of it and saw a $45 charge from AZG&F. Looks like I'm chasing a deer this year. Now just have to see where.

Thanks for the deal knothead. Pleasure meeting you this morning. Can't wait to take my son out to give it a shot (literally).

Nice! I like the last pic where the sheep mooned you.

Leupold RX-1000i TBR Rangefinder Brand New
bgshooter replied to Deserttrecker's topic in Classified Ads
I bought this range finder when it went on sale at Cabelas. I've played with it in a backyard a few times. Can't wait to use it out on the field. Good luck with your sale. -
Nice deer...you all can't see it???

From the fishing regs: "short-term combination hunt and fish - allows take of all fish species statewide (including at community fishing waters), small game, fur-bearing animals, predatory animals, nongame animals, and upland game birds." You both should be good to go.
-
Nice. I need to start putting a little $ away from my paychecks towards getting a few cameras. I'm one of the unfortunate ones that can't get away often enough to scout so I'll need to use technology to scout for me.
-
Nope. Trout comes with your combo license. You can use two poles also. All included with the license now. Have fun and good luck

+1 on taking care of business (i.e. job, roof over your family's head, meals on the table, clothes on your family's back, etc) and having a few extras shouldn't be a big deal. And +1 on asking for forgiveness instead of permission
