Worked this morning (for turkey) using Internet Explorer. I was using Chrome the 5x it didn't work this weekend. Tried for javelina next and got an error after trying to enter my friend's department ID. Thinking it has to do with his new assigned dept. ID since it's his first time going in for a draw. Will try again later.

Well that's just great. I didn't do it 17x, but 4x on my debit card and 1x on my cc. LOL. Hope it won't be a PITA to get back the 4x mistake.

I like the idea as well. But I don't have 12 points . If I had 12 points, I'd probably be a much better hunter and I may not need the help. OR I may just be buying bonus points year after year in hopes to find an offer like this some day without ever stepping into a unit or looking at a map. I have 1 point. I'll get back to you in 11 years (j/k). If you don't get your guy with the 12 points and are interested in showing a new hunter how it's done, sign me up. I'll draw with you every year until we get drawn . Until then, I'll be trying to get up in the woods as often as possible and get to know the land and try to find the sweet spots while working on my hunting skills. God knows I need all the practice I can get . Good luck!!!

Good luck on your next hunt. You'll get it done sooner or later. I (like others) would rather spend the time and money scouting\hunting than go to Disneyland or any other amusement park. The woods is our amusement park

LOL it's that easy to hunt elk huh LOL. Just stand there with a phone and talk to them. Awesome. Nice bucks and congrats to you and your friend.

The season was great for me as well. Not nearly close to the number of birds some of you got but I added another season to my belt, learned a few new things and got a friend to love it and will probably go out with me every year from now on. My goal next year is to find other spots so I'm not going to the same place all the time. Saturday was really slow. We only got 10 birds total. But it was enough to get my buddy hooked. Can't wait for next season. Now time to focus on the mule deer hunt coming up.

Well, I'm feeling better. Next planned outing is Saturday morning (should be my last for the season) and I'm taking a friend with me for his first dove hunt. He just picked up a shotgun. Hope to show him a good time and he falls in love with hunting like I did.

Went out last with my youngest son. This was our first bird of the night. When we went to pick it up, he said "this one looks like a fat one." We finished with 12 birds by sunset. Right after we called it a night and started packing up, 10 birds decided to circle us above. Like they knew legal hours were done LOL. Here he is playing near a creek while I packed up the truck. He loves being out there. I was planning on going out this morning but I was feeling a bit under the weather. Hope this thing passes quick so I can get back out there before the season ends.

Where do you live? Would be willing to help you out with your rabbit problems My kids would certainly love it. +1 on the hunting months with "R" for rabbit. We wait until October just to be extra safe.

This was my harvest for Friday morning. Got to my spot 8:20 and was out by 10:24. 15 mournings in 37 shots. Got to be my most efficient shooting ever. I focused on shooting the closer flyers and not trying to go for a home run. Definitely helped my shoulder from the beating. Can't wait to get out again Monday morning.

Took the day off today and will try to get some more after dropping kids off to school. Hope it won't be too late in the day but best I can do today.

This is why I bought a $4500 F150 4x4 so that I can play with it without having to worry about putting pin striping on it. Same reason I use my Mossberg 500 for hunting so I don't have to sorry about a pretty gun getting dirt on it

Here are some pics from our opening day. My older son (Jeremiah) tried out the 20 gauge I bought him with some low recoil shells. He handled the recoil very well but the stock was still a bit too long for him to comfortably shoulder the gun. I was going to just let him take some shots until he got tired and then take my turn. He called it quits sooner than I thought he would cause of the stock issue. Will buy him a shorter stock soon. Jeremiah retrieving a dove I shot down that fell on the other side of the fence. He was having fun retrieving. Hope to get him shooting them down himself soon. My younger son Brendon (left) had a blast even though he didn't shoot anything. He enjoyed seeing the dove drop and eating the snacks I got them before we got to the spot. Final count is 12 mourning and 1 eurasian. Wished I was more efficient with the shells. Can't say I had a great ratio but oh well. Didn't limit before sunset but had a really fun time going dove hunting with my boys...their first time out with me. Planning on going again Thursday. Had to take s selfie so here it is...
