Drew a 2014 Unit 23 tag for Coues in October. Never really spent much time in this unit. Any successful hunters that have info on a place to check out there would be greatly appreciated. Not looking for your secret hiding places. Just an idea of where to maybe go to scout. Thanks for the help.

I have a 2000 GMC 1500 Sierra Z71 4x4 for sale. Best truck I have ever owned. Finances force this sale. My mechanic says it needs a new valve body in the trans. and would cost about $700 to do. Unemployed and can't afford it now. I could use a good job and maybe be able to keep it. I have pics if anyone wants to see them. Everything else works great. Heated leather seats. Power everything including seats. BFG's all around with 2 spares. It has a couple dings in the bed and a crack in the front window. This has been a great truck and hate to sell it. 227000 miles and the engine is still strong as ever. e-mail, text or call for info and pics. Asking $2850 Reduced koda1234@centurylink.net 602-471-5292

750 - 1000 wolves planned in Az; meeting planned this weekend
murfys69law replied to couesmagnet's topic in Elk Hunting
Ever heard of "Honeymoon Campground" The 4 drag is 1/2 mile west of that. You go thru Safford and then back up the main road that goes to Hanegans Meadow only you dont go that far. You take a road off to the west and follow it for approx30 miles I guess. I never went that way but once coming from the valley. I always went across the rez just out of Globe-Miami. -
750 - 1000 wolves planned in Az; meeting planned this weekend

Don't know if anyone remembers reading or hearing about this, but I was working the 4 drag ranch down by Safford. I worked for Dean Warren. He was the cowboy who was attacked by 4 wolves. He was working his cattle when a 2 yr old female, 2 yearling pups and a 3 year old male wolf attacked him and his dogs. I wasn't with him that day but hooked up with him 3 days later. He said he fought them off for 3 miles until he got to his line shack and was able to back his horse and dogs into the coral corner. Finally they left. He had been on his radio to the forest service as he was the honorary sheriff at the time in that area. He was told when they were to release the wolves that it would be 1-2 years before anyone ever saw or had contact with them. 2 weeks after their release his neighbor had pics of 1 running thru his pasture. Dean left 1 of the dogs during the fight hoping they would kill and eat that one and leave him and the rest alone. Well, the dog he left made it back to the ranch in bad shape but lived. At line shack that night he showed me some pics of the attack as he had a disposable camera in his saddle bags. As i was looking at them in came the "Wolf Recovery Girl", a forest service officer on their mules. She had placed traps to catch them. I looked at the pics and there was no doubt in my mind that these were not pure bred Mexican Grey wolves and Dean agreed with me. She confessed that they weren't. They were mixed with dog, raised in a zoo in Minnesota and had been hand fed since their release as they were not making kills on their own. (except Dean's and other ranchers cattle) He had fired his 40 long colt in the air, on the ground around them with no results. This is not how the story was supposed to go as far as the wolf experts claimed. They were protected then and Dean was not allowed to shoot them. That has changed since but still makes me mad as I could have lost a very dear friend of mine due to ignorance on some other peoples part. This is NOT a fairytail as I was there and saw the results of what the animals can do to a ranchers operation. If they release them then start selling tags. Or beware of the repercussions you will cause. -
Great pics. What I like if you look at the camp pic you can see the metal ice chest and water jug and that tent..wow..NOW that's vintage

Do you have any info on the name or manufacturer of the product? That would be great.

As we get older I guess some of us need glasses to read the paper, books or just about anything. I have found that when I have taken my rifles or bow out to sight them in or just practice, I find it harder to focus on the target. If I don't use reading glasses I can't see the crosshairs but I see the target. (farsighted I guess) If I use them I see the crosshairs but the target is somewhat blurry. I have tried to adjust the back focus on the gun which helped a little but I really have to physically push my self to see the whole picture. I shoot with a very good scope, Nikon Monarch. This is quite disheartening as I don't want to miss or wound a good animal or paper punch a group and wonder is it me or the gun. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I see a lot of you in your pictures wearing glasses so there must be a remedy. Thanks all.

I guess all you need is a bird feeder and some wrought iron fixtures. OUCH!!!!

Wow..Don't know if I could do contacts. I have a real aversion to having something in my eyes. Never tried them but I guess it's worth a shot..or miss lol
-
I will try these suggestions,,lasik may have to wait,,I guess thats the price we pay for getting older. Thanks all for sharing.
-
Been there-Tried that. I will get it to where it looks good sometimes but other times I have to pull away and reset myself. I just cant find a comfortable fix,,,,other that what was suggested LASIK..that takes money which is in short supply. now.

It's bigger that the Antel-abbit I saw years ago

I passed on this bull last year. Didn't have the heart to pull the trigger..

I have used this round for years and have never had the same results twice. 300 Win mag 180 grain, 30-06 165 grain, 270 Win and 270 WSM 130 & 150 grain. I have had full penetration in and out both sides, never exiting and turning everything inside to jelly, exploding (like a small grenade went off) it seems like on impact, Hitting bone and deflecting to other areas inside. What I read about this bullet makes it sound like it is one of the best rounds you can use. Granted ALL my animals have been found close or dropped in their track. I just don't understand why this round never acts the same as others I have used. IE.. Silver tip, Nosler partition, Speers and Berger. It is a cheap factor load when it comes to buying ammo now but I sure have lost a lot of meat thru-out the years because of this round. Anyone else find this true? Just interested if I am the only one.

Good point. Never thought of that

All of you that have a friend that snores...Been there, experienced that. I did however discover this thing called "Ear plugs" Seems to work great for me. Just saying -
I appreciate you candor about your processing. I will say that 2 times in all the animals I have had done that I KNOW for a fact that I have received someone else's meat. I take extreme care when fielding my animals. Very little dirt, grass, hair, etc.. Picking up my game, taking it home and opening a package to cook and finding hair, dirt, and other things that I know were not brought in that way is very disheartening. Upon questioning the butcher I have been told that sometime this happens. I don't think this should EVER happen. I do not expect paying for someone else's lack of knowledge or just caring properly for their game is my fault. A reputable processing establishment should back up their work. I hope this never happens to anyone else cuz it was a waist of money and time on all involved except the person who received MY well taken care of game. If I ever get another tag I will be interested in trying your sevice. Thanks Jeremy

I have two and one more. Well Einstein That would make 3 then wouldn't it??

OK OK!! This must be a price no one is interested in so I am getting motivated. How about $275.00 & if you are close to me I will deliver it. HUH HUH?? Any takers? Ttt

I have a 4000 watt onan gen. for sale. I took it out of a motorhome that was trashed. Want $350.00 for it. I haven't got pics to load yet but hope to have some today. It's not the whisper quiet but does the job if you need a good one. Gas burner not propane. I do know it can be converted to propane if you want to pay for the conversion kit.

Well. Thanks for all the input. I will say again like before. I have never lost an animal with this round. It is and will always be a low cost devastating bullet. I do however agree with you all about the long range aspects of this bullet. The farthest shot I have made was around 350 yrds and dropped the deer. I will use them again just because of the price. I guess dead is dead like Norteno said. I will just cut out the bloodshot and grill whats left. Have a great hunt everyone.

Ok..This story is fake but I just can't believe a mule would play with a dead cat like this..wow.... You can see the pictures of the mule biting and throwing the cat in the air . Just google mule kills mountain lion.
