The only thing I can think is that when elk are rutting they tend to lose their minds a little cuz all they are thinking about is gettin' some booger from cows and fighting to keep them. If the rifles go before and they are not in full rut at that time, which seems to be the case more often than not, they may still be able to have a good archery hunt. I know when I have had archery tags it seemed both times the week right after my hunt the bulls were just getting into full swing and I had missed it and the early rifles did much better. If the rifles making all the noise doesn't effect them once they are done and the elk are in full rut after their hunt it might work. I still think there is something missing that we aren't aware of that G&F hasn't told us. JMO

Actually this is not a fake animal. They did exist many many years ago but are now extinct. I read they are trying to bring them back somehow. Sounds like Jurassic park to me but it would very cool to hunt an animal like this.

Shelby, I just read your story about your 2014 whitetail with your father. You are truly an amazing young lady and I hope you never lose site of the fact that your dad has raised a great daughter with excellent values and a darn good hunter as well. I just bought the same exact scope. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but wondered what your thoughts were on it. Love the scope! I have a viper 6.5-20x44 pa on my 7mm rem mag and want to get the razor 4-27x56 for my 300 win mag and put the PST on my 7mm. I'll always buy vortex quality and warranty hands down the best! Thanks
