Wow! What a bunch of great bucks. Congratulations to all the hunters. -
I have my nephew coming out the first week in Jan for a Javalina hunt in unit 33. We didn't draw our first choice 23 where I know to find pigs. I've hunted 33 a couple times for deer and have a limited idea where to find pigs. Anyone care to PM me any help in finding pigs in this unit I would very much appreciate it.

My buddy Bob and I went hunting 1/6/12 thru 1/9/12 a couple weeks ago. We we're into deer every day with one or two bucks to stalk each day. On Sunday we were just riding the ATV's to another vantage point to glass from and up pops this Coues buck from behind a Juniper. I decide to take off after him and the hunt was on! He didn't bolt but left at a fast jog constanly checking his back trail. I kept a Juniper between us and actually tried something I haven't before. With the wind in my face I sprinted to the place that he had entered the thick Junipers and decided to get aggresive with my stalk. When I first entered the woods I immediately saw another spike buck 20 yards to my left and a fence line about 40 yards up ahead. I quickly ran up to the fence line and positioned myself to intercept the buck before he crossed the fence. I noticed a couple of deer on the other side of the fence as I saw my buck coming up to the fence line at about 25 yards out. I needed to cover about 5 yards to get a clean shot. As I took my last steps to where I would shoot from I drew my bow and knelt down to one knee. The buck had a few more step to go to get in my shooting lane. I kept my bottom cam against my thigh so I could hold longer and not get tired if I needed to. As the buck came into my lane I aimed and squeezed off the shot. I didn't wait for the traditional 30 minutes or so, I just ran over to where the buck was standing to assess the situation. Not finding my arrow I decieded to go after him to get another arrow in him if needed. I found him about 30 yards from where I hit him laying under a Juniper taking his last breath. This entire event took less than 10 minutes and was one of my best hunts ever. I know he's not the largest buck I've taken but he's my first Coues with and bow and I'm proud to be one of the "Coues Whitetails With A Bow" team member. It's actually taken me about 25 years and "10 minutes" to take this buck.

Congratulations Kevin on a super nice ram! Wish I could have been there with you.

Nice buck! Congratulations!! What a red carpet! You're one of the first to write about checking to make sure your Rage broadheads were not deployed before using them. Rage mechanicals are great but they do come with a bit of extra care that is well worth it in my book. A lot of the time people complain about mechanicals but fail to use the right quiver or to modify their existing quiver to prevent premeature deployment. If you use a quiver with a hood full of foam and stick the mechanicals directly into the foam like you wood a fixed blade head, you're going to get in trouble.

Another beautiful buck! WOW! Congratulations Mark!! You certainly know how to get it done! Nice Raging big hole right on the money!!

Nice looking buck Casey! Congratultaions!!! -
I agree with the statement about someone who ONLY measures their success by the size of the antlers! However, I love to shoot bucks with big antlers but my time in the field is enjoyed whether I shoot a buck or not. And sometimes I shoot smallish deer to fill the freezer. I love passing on bucks every year waiting for "the one" for me. I leave more for other hunters and enjoy more time in the field. To each their own. About the + thing. I realy don't care what people post for scores and understand that there's no universal use of the + or -. However, I've used the + thing when I knew a deer scored at least x amount but scored it quickly.

Real nice looking buck! Congratulations to your dad.

Super Nice Buck right there!! Not many hunters will ever see, let alone take a buck like that. Congratulations!

That buck is awesome! Even though he has a bit of extra trash he looks fairly typical to me. NICE!

The guy in that photo is actually Bruce Barrie from Rocky Mountain Broadhead. He was the first guy that the patent was licensed to to make the original Rocky Mountain Snyper. Rocky Mountain Broadheads was later purchased from Bruce by Field Logic who makes Block Targets. Rage was the second version of broadhead made under the same patent.
