20% Tariff is a bad idea. Higher cost of Mexican products means we end up paying for the wall. Hope it is just a ploy to scare Mexico's Presidente.

Dang.....that means the Mexican Tequila is.....

Border patrol chief Mark Morgan resigned one day after Trump announced the border wall. Draining the swamp!

With the amount of money the Feds have been wasting, and sending to our enemies, we could build one bad azz wall, with plenty of change to spare. Do it right, and it will work.
-
A wall that is curved outward at the top with layers of rolled razor wire. Walkable parapets. Guard towers.video surveillance. Infrared.motion detectors. Night lights and everything powered by solar. One long patrolled highway on our side of the wall. A corrugated tin wall wont get it done.

Don't forget Obama and Kerry and their Quarter Billion straight to Hamas a mere 2 hours before being shown the door. Sneaky, unscrupulous b-tUrds. It was said that Trump & appropriations committee blocked that 221 million from reaching Palestine?

Read an article over at Brietbart about a bunch of restaurants in San Francisco closing after they raised the minimum wage to $15. There were other contributing factors, but the increase was the proverbial " Straw on the camels back". I really hate to see any, mom & pop businesses, having to close doors.

Dow Jones hit 20,000 for the first time ever. Hopefully things will be looking up.

I would be willing to bet a lot that the houses they were building were not only selling cheaper, but also selling a lot fewer and a lot slower. I bought my first house in 2009. It had been built 3 or 4 years earlier and sold for $308k. I got it as a foreclosure for $125k. There was so many houses on the market, it was rediculous. Houses that were only a couple years old and some still had furniture in them because the people who lost it couldnt afford a moving van. There were some short sales that were brand new, never lived in.Yep. I know what its like to lose a house. Contractor wanted to keep his profit margins up by screwing others. I don't play that game.

Back in the recession days of 2008-09, worked dried up for my cabinetshop. Had to look for work. Met with a contractor who needed finish carpenters. He told me because of the recession, they were paying less than average. I looked him in the eye and asked him if they were charging less for the houses? Interview ended. There are legitmate reasons for raising prices, and there are those that will take advantage of it.

I have absolutely NO problem with any business owner raising their prices as much as they feel like. Their business, not mine. Free market, supply/demand, etc... If they claim it is due to min wage increase, well I suppose that is their business too (I can't necessarily claim to understand their business model, costs, etc...). It's not like I am forced to go to their business, and if the prices get too high I will stop. Regarding the minimum wage debate in general, I suppose that I'm against it for many of the same reasons folks have sited on this thread. (Though I do remember as a kid making $3.10 per hour at the local grocery store in Kearny, I was SUPER happy when the minimum was raised to $3.35! ) Times have definitely changed! S. So you don't mind if gasoline jumps up to $4.00 a gallon.? There is a huge difference between, free market, and excessive greed. They can all price themselves out of business for all I care!

Insightful for anyone that listens. The lefties hate him, so he is o.k in my book. There are unscrupulous businesses ouy there that will raise prices at a rate that far exceeds the minimum wage increase. A good short order cook makes more than minimum wage, and increasing a plate of food by 25% is way out of line.

Bob, you are not the only one that has had a rough time. Many of us have. I know of a guy who went through a similar situation as I did in the economic crash 8 years ago. He blew his brains out, and left a wife and children to clean up the mess. If you like Rush or not, he is insighful and informative. He must be doing well considering he owns a $50 million dollar Gulfstream. Onward thru the fog!

$10 this year $10.5 in 2018 $11 in 2019 $12 in 2020 Seattle found out the hard way over a minimum wage increase to $15.

The minimum wage increase in Az, is a state bill, and not a Federal mandate. It could be overturned, albeit, with a lot of effort to get the signatures. Tomas Robles is the instigator of prop 206. A Democrat activist for the Latino community. He is also fighting against deportations.
