  1. I saw one in 2002. I was glassing for deerand something caught my eye. It was sitting in a clearing about 7-800 yards out, I thought it was a yote but after watching it it turned out to be a wolf. Its the only time I ever saw one, I have never hear one howling at night. Turns out a pack or a loner was in that area, and I was wondering why my honey hole was barren, wolf tracks in all the drainages I was in? The wolf program had plans to have 100 wolves in the Blue Range by 2002, I don't know if they met that objective or not. Hunters or hikers will most likely see them on occasion.
  2. Wolf pen in unit 27 Unit 27 is always my unit of choice, and I was very unhappy when they released the wolves in there. I would just as soon have them re-introduce the grizzly. I don't know what kind of delusions that Valdez has about the wolves, but they are killers, plain and simple. It is not like Yellowstone park where you might actually see one. The public will probably never see one in the wild here in AZ, and I can't see them being an advantage to an ecosystem whose deer numbers are already plaqued by drought and predation.

I keep a couple of small water holes filled up on my property for the small game, and there are always a good covey of quail that come through and drink but I have not seen any chicks yet? We do have a packrat population explosion this year

    Back Surgery

I can relate. My last episode, I was fortunate enough that I had my Cell phone on my belt, I had to call my wife who brought my Dad to help lift me off the ground and carry me inside the house.

    Back Surgery

I have done all of it. Therapy ( my wife works for a therapist) chiropractic, etc. Pain management in my case only helps with the pain and not the cause. The affected area has two bulging /herniated disks that along with my slight spinal scoliosis, are creating compression on the left side of the spine, the vertabrae are too close together and causing pinching / compression of the nerve cluster. I do not want spinal fusion except for a last resort. I will be seeing a different specialist/surgeon next month who was reffered to me by a neighbor who had the procedure with good success and had great things to say abouth the surgeon. Red Rabbit - I am researching the radio frequency procedure this morning . Thanks! TLH- My wife has the same burning arm syndrome as you from an auto accident (whiplash) hers comes from physical activity and the muscles pulling on the neck joint which in turn pinches the nerve and causes the arm to feel that way.

    PSE X-force

I shoot a PSE Thunderbolt which is good enough for me, but I did watch some video on the X- Force and a friend owns one who likes it. Smokin fast!
  9. If the draw is good enough to provide me with a deer tag, then it would be the first three items on your list, watching slopes and saddles, if I get drawn for my New Mexico Archery Elk then I will start off with sitting water hole which is my least favorite way to hunt.

    Writing a book.

I worked in virtually every phase of the publishing industry over the past fifty years before I took up ghost writing books for international trophy hunters in my retirement. If you need help or want to run something past me, PM me. Bill Quimby Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on that. I was reading some statistics of how many manuscripts are submitted to publishers vs. how many get rejected, not good! I will have alot of polishing and presenting to do.

    Three-bar deer capture

That's great to see that research in full effect, I never knew that much effort effort and technology go into the capture and monitoring of deer.

    Writing a book.

Yeah that may be optimistic, as it usually takes a year from publishers acceptance to the time it gets to print. They may not even accept it and I may do a vanity or POD type thing, the title could change based on title copyrights, etc.? The book titled " A Hunters Quest" is a philospohical journey into the life of a hunter, hunting camps, fathers, freinds and hunting companions, and what we experience on the spiritual side of hunting as well as the good and bad that goes along with it. It is a blend of real life, humor, sadness, and personal reflection through the eyes of an average hunter/outdoorsman. I bought some informational books on self publishing as well as dealing with the giant publishers. I certainly have a lot to learn, as I am not a proffessional writer. But I do enjoy writing. I am a little too philosophical for my own good sometimes, but it will reflect well in this book. Hopefully I will have it completed by October. The late 2008 date in my original post is an error, I meant late 2009!
  17. We have been trying to set up a date for a CWT member get together at my place in Sahuarita 5 miles west of Corona de Tucson / houghton road, it looks as if it will be July 12th. Anybody with a quad can show up around 12:00 p.m and I will take you into the north end of the Santa Ritas on a sight seeing tour, and then back to my place where the party will start at 4:00 p.m., my wife will be here along with couple others if anyone shows up early before we get back on the quads. There will be BBQ with all the fixins, we will have music, horseshoes, after dark if everyone wishes I can start a campfire. The party will last until whenever. All you have to bring is whatever you want to BBQ and drink. All side dishes, snacks etc will be provided. If anyone wishes to share a special dish that would be great. When the time comes I will P.M everyone with my address and Phone number, directions can be looked up on mapquest It should be a good time for everyone.

    Way to go!
  21. I know. I was just messin with em. We will have a good time. Just trying to find a weekend that works for everyone, and that can be kinda hard with varying schedules. I am going to be caught up with my work schedule by mid June so I am planning a trip to Lee's Ferry for a few days to Fly Fish, and I wanted to stop by the Flagstaff gathering on the 21st. if possible.
  22. Some guys mentioned that they will bring buffalo, fish that they catch, and what not. I will have plenty of delicious side dishes, snacks, and stuff to prepare everything so all anyone needs to bring is whatever meat and beer that they want, I will have bottle water and soda avilable as well.
  23. I would rather have it sooner myself before it gets to hot, but I was giving everyone the chance to vote on it based on individual schedules, unless someone voted more than once
