It always makes a guy wonder if those clubby knubbies that they grow are going to turn into some neat non-typical stuff?

I am just hoping to be in a favorite spot that I have not seen in awhile, have not been drawn for my first or second choice hunt in 5 years, maybe this will be the year? -

I am going to do my best to be there. I have a few cool items I could bring for raffle. However, I just lost half of my left thumb in a work accident, due to a bonehead mistake on my part, and now I will be behind schedule for sure. But I am looking forward to a couple days in the cool pines with the all the other CWT members attending. -
You might want to point out to your grandpa, that 46a is a young man's game..... that is one of, if not the toughest hunts in the state. Just an FYI..... if he knows what he is up against then, good for him, and good luck.... but putting in for that should not be done without some fore-thought... just my $0.02....... Um.... and you all you Rocky guys.....there are no more rocky rams left in AZ!!!!! ...... And a new state record was killed out of Foote Cr. last year.... in case you did not know that! They already promised me a Rocky tag.... but are having a hard time getting it to me..... There has been oneless permit in the total for that Foote Creek hunt, I think, thanks in part to that ram that got poached in 2004 and reproduction rates????

I was planning on purchasing a Spot satellite messenger, a unit that will send messages and emergency signals via satellite. Has anyone purchased one of these and tried the messenger check in or progress tracking functions? The unit is only $150.00 and $100.00 a year for satellite subscription, well worth the price, as I hunt alone in remote and rugged areas ( ain't getting any younger) and was curious if anyone had first hand experience with these type of units. Thanks!

Nice! Is there a good story with that?

Unit 27 has alot of bears. Be physically prepared if you hunt the canyon country below the rim. Spot and stalk.

Amen to that one brother! Let em get a little bigger.

What is the deadline for purchase?

35A is only open to Ft. Huachuca personel in the fall for archery, otherwise it is a spring draw hunt only.

I need to get back surgery to replace 2 bad disks in my lower spine. I have been putting this off for the last two years because of the physical nature of my work, and recovery time etc, but I need to get it done as I am in constant pain and discomfort. Anyway, I am looking for opinions from any fellow hunters or anyone that knows another hunter that has had this operation. And what their down side was. I have talked to non-hunters that have had it done and they took 2-4 months before they could resume full physical activity based on individual circumstance. But just wanted to know what any fellow hunter experienced after their ordeal. If I do it this summer any hunts that I get drawn for would be a wasted tag, as I may not be fully capable of hunting. The doctor expects full recovery, but told me to expect approx 3 months of healing and therapy, and I would not be able to load my back during that time. I am seriously considering on suffering a little longer and wait until after the season is over as I hate missing hunts. I live in constant fear of throwing my back out when hunting alone, and will be buying a personal locator beacon/satellite phone just in case. Any information would be appreciated!

Thank you all for your input and advice, I am going to research all options carefully. I had a bad day today. I spent most of the day in UMC emrgency room after a shaper table router accident and lost half of my left thumb. We couldn't even find the pieces! 25 years in the business with no major injury and being a safety freak, one eye blink of not being focused and I paid the price.

I can relate. My last episode, I was fortunate enough that I had my Cell phone on my belt, I had to call my wife who brought my Dad to help lift me off the ground and carry me inside the house. Had a similar experience with my shoulder. Had it pop out while at my uncles house... Had to call him on my cell phone so he could come pop it back in place! OUCH! Was it dislocated? I have seen someone do that before and it didn't look like any fun!
