My sister and I flew to Minneapolis and then drove south 80 miles to Albert Lea where we are originally from. We left the rental car lot in a snow storm and my sister was stressing out trying to drive in it, so I took over. We finally got to our motel at 3:00 a.m. On our way back to Minneapolis we stopped at my other Grandparents house for a couple hour visit and they showed me a picture of my cousins big heavy 10 pt. whitetail taken up by Baudette close to the Canadian border. It was a nice rack but the body was huge.

Stinging and Biting Critters
Snapshot replied to Mr. Jonathan's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Hunt the early archery seasons and they will be there in abundance -
Not very good. I have kind of put it on the back burner for now until I get back on track with work and schedules. things have been so hectic I just have not had the energy or focus to write. But it will get finished. I just flew to Minnesota and back in two days for my Grandma's funeral, and I can say I do not miss the weather back there. 3 degree's with brutal wind chill and snow. Brrrrrrrrrr.!

Shooting a 30-06... what is the best grain bullet for coues?
Snapshot replied to arnett's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Even though the 168 grain bullets have the best ballistic coefficiency in a .30 caliber (I believe?), I have used 150 grains for deer out of my semi custom 06' for many years without any probelms, as long as you use a good bullet, you can't go wrong. I have been using the Remington Premium ammo loaded with 150 grain accutips with excellent accuracy, even though they are pricey. The bullet I pulled out of this years Coues deer I shot at 400 yards had great expansion and weight retention as I retrieved the bullet while I was skinning the deer, though I have heard these type bullets don't work as well at short ranges? For elk I use the premium 180 grain Triple shock loads . -
Nice buck. Good Job!

I'll second that motion. With Obama as President and now Nappy as homeland security, man, I can sleep better at night knowing our country is in such great hands...........yeah right!

Happy Birthday Bro!

Thats a dandy of a buck. How was the hunting pressure down there?
-
Welcome! Are you strictly a bowhunter, or do you rifle hunt also? I am a two season hunter rifle/bow, but I always enjoy the late archery hunt, it can be alot of fun.
-
Nice buck. I would shoot him in a nanosecond.

Thats awesome Scott. -
Maybe this cooler wet weather will get them spunky a little earlier. I can't hunt again until January, but am looking forward to some archery rut hunting if time allows.

I got the P.M, I will contact you when you get home.

Congratulations on the new addition to the family Bro. Your wife is a tough cookie for giving birth unaided by modern chemistry

Knock em dead buddy!

I am thankful for all things good. Family, friends and last but not least, God and all his beautiful creations in which we get to roam in during our hunts. A special thanks to all the great people I have met at CWT.com. Keep the faith brothers and sisters

Very nice.

Yeah, its amazing how quick those critters can move. I watched a sow and 2 cubs once that cruised a ridge in 10 minutes and it would have taken me close to an hour to do the same.

Brent, OK, I have 3 T-bones ready to BBQ the day you're there. Any idea which day? I should be down in time for a Saturday afternoon glassing session 2:00p.m approx , and I can stay overnight through Sunday miday. -
You went elk scouting and all you got was that tiny little bear??????? Whats up with that Congrats man, that is one big ole bruin. Did he have a scarred up face? Usually when they are that big they have done some fightin.
