"Muy grande Venado", gotta love it! -
Thats looks like a good buck. Is that the pig in the middle of the photo?
-
Since I know where you are hunting , If you want to send me a P.M, I will give you my cell phone number in case you find yourself in a bind or emergency situation.

2008 November Archey Elk Hunting Opion Survey
Snapshot replied to GameHauler's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I received the survey also, and sometimes I wonder what direction these surveys really go? I like the November archery hunt opportunity as long as it does not take away from the September bowhunts. The bowhunters should not be penalized with fewer tags to create more opportunity elsewhere, but if the elk populations support adding the November bowhunts, then a few more people can get tags without adversely effecting other hunts and or long term elk populations. -
Go to the Marlin website, I think they have a comparison graph of the two. The Marlin express .308 is just a little slower (not much) than a standard .308, but the rubberized tips make it safe for tubular magazines on a lever action. It is a nice gun/caliber!

Matthewp45 scores a big San Carlos buck!
Snapshot replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Excellent buck. I like those forks. Great job! -
Nice buck Scott. Congrats to your friend. That big buck would be one to keep an eye for you next season! Have the deer been rutting hard up there?

I have this book called "Hunted- A true story of survival", written by a British mountain climber named David Fletcher. The author relives a true life and death adventure of a trip to Alaska in the 1990's to climb Mount Hess, where he accidentally kills a Grizzly cub, and is hunted through the wilderness and a glacial moraine by the ticked off mother of the Grizzly cub. The story is very captivating and exciting, however, I just have a hard believing some of the story. This guy ends up killing the sow Grizzly in the end by getting her to topple a large ice block on herself. He had no weapons save his ice pick. I was wondering if anyone has read this book, and what your opinion on it would be.

Thanks for the update Bro! I went online last night and they did not have it, but this morning they finally did. I paid for my sticker, and at least I have a receipt.

I wanted to ride today, and the MVD lady said that as a holiday none of the rangers would be working????? I don't want to get a ticket or a big hassle, especially since I wanted to buy a sticker they did not have available yet. I have one quad that is registered and street legal, but it still falls under the new OHV law. One of my in-laws told me that the stickers were supposed to be available by third parties, aka, ATV dealers, but when I stopped by yesterday they were clueless about it.

I stopped at the Green Valley MVD today. They do not have the stickers yet, the lady said maybe on Friday. Also stopped by the big atv place on Ina road, they have none either.

I have read that Jim Corbett book a couple of times. He has some excellent stories on hunting those man eating tigers in India.

He could just be a freak, or a young "cactus buck", a castorated deer that will grow freakish antlers. Seeing them in velvet is not uncommon. I have seen small bucks that still had velvet on their antlers just before they drop them in the spring. They are deer that just have not learned to rub their horns.

get as many people together as possible and start a search form the spot he was shot. Search in gradually larger circles, and look in every bush and tree and cut that could hide a buck. If he was shot in the heart, like you said, he probably would not go more than 100 yards or so. With the warm weather you will only have a day or so before it spoils. Take a dog if you have one.

You are welcome to borrow it sometime.

Hooooooeeeeee! What a "muy grande venado". I like red chile tamales with an olive inside, a couple dozen will do nicely! Congratulations!

Happy Birthday, and may all your Pinalmtman dreams come true!

Greetings from Sahuarita land. Its been raining steadily all morning and the temp is dropping and now getting some frozen slushy rain. Hoping it snows. Since I have the day off, and I am feeling lazy, I was hoping to take the quad out and play in the snow if it happens. On the brighter side, if this good winter rain carries over into the spring, it would be a great thing for our deer herds
