Montana Signs in New Gun Laws
Snapshot replied to GameHauler's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
The first thing is to have State legislators that actually have a pair. As far as how to get the ball rolling, I am not certain, but I will do some research. Maybe someone here has some good connections. -
I am not sure. It is made for .45 long colt type(frame) guns. I used it with a Ruger Vaquero back in the Cowboy action shooting days. It is in good condition.

If anyone in the Tucson area is headed towards the Payson area in the near future, and can drop them off to Mike, I will bring the items to you.

Just imagine how they would taste after all that adrenalin buildup. I doubt the bushman would care much though!

Montana Signs in New Gun Laws
Snapshot replied to GameHauler's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Thats why I am only going to live there from May - September, during the summer fishing guide season. -
I have been baptised in the waters of the San Juan by stepping into a moss covered hole. My wife said it is one of the funniest things she has seen. All she saw was a flyrod and part of an arm sticking out of the water. Sorry Jackshoe, didn't mean to hijack your thread!

After I got to the far side of the river, I had the best day's fishing in yellowstone I ever had, caught over 20 nice cutthroat. I found a long stick to use as a wading pole/brace to get back across the river. The water was up to within a couple inches of the top of my chest waders. I felt almost like a big bobber.

I waded across the river near Buffalo Ford one time and almost got carried down river. I will never do that again.

Thats great, especially since I will likely be moving to Montana next year. I will certainly support the stance they are taking. -
Just picked up my whitetail mount from Scottyboy, and did he ever do a great job. I am very pleased with the results. Thanks Scottyboy, I hope we can make another trade when I get my big elk in November

That is a great plan, but too easy. You know how much our governments can complicate something simple! -

Need Your Honest Opinions
Snapshot replied to SouthernCouesHunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Rule #1 , never ask for my opinion, you just might get it I have always been kind of brand loyal, and have shot PSE bows since the late 70's. The PSE X-Force or Bow madness is high on my wish list for this fall. I have been shooting a PSE thunderbolt with lightning cam for 10 years without a problem. There are so many good bows out there, you can't go wrong with any manufacturers top shelf bows. Shoot what feels good. -
Bump.

AFTER 32 YEARS
Snapshot replied to tjhunt2's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
You get an elk tag every year, and she has to wait 32 years to get a turkey? Man, that is just wrong! Great pics Tj. Give your wife a big congratulations on that bird. -
Yeah, I was by myself. When I take self photo's, I have to set the timer and move real fast into position before the shutter goes off

Arrived Monday Morning at 9:00 a.m Taking a break up at HL saddle rest area Found 2 whitetail resting under a tree up at 4 Bar. They are under the juniper in the center of Pic. One was a buck with fuzzy nubbins. Set up camp down at lower Juan Miller campground. You can't see much from there but it is shady and peaceful in the bottom of the canyon Took the quad up a jeep trail for miles in to the backcountry towards the back side of HL Saddle around the big mountain in the background. Came across a stock tank where 2 whitetails were getting a drink at 1:00 in the afternoon. You can just see their rear ends in the grass as they left. They did not like my quad for some reason From the stock tank you can see Red Mountain to the north. Chillin and grillin in camp Monday night. Tuesday morning I took a ride to the XXX Ranch, the old Fritz place, down on the blue. It is 14 miles from camp to the Blue River. Paid my respect to Fred Fritz, a true pioneer of this area. I am not sure if posting this picture is appropriate or not, I will gladly remove it if it is not. There is a rich piece of Arizona history in this area. The old Fritz place which is maintained by the USFS I then continued over to the Stacey Ranch. This is a pic of the Blue River at F.R 475 When I reached the Stacey Ranch I was going to continue up the Coalson jeep trail, however, there were cattle on the other side of the gate and they were getting spooky from the quad, and I did not want to cause a problem on a private property pass thru so I turned around and headed back to a canyon that I wanted to check out. The canyon was supposed to have a spring somewhere in it and maybe some resident elk. So I parked the quad and hiked up the canyon for about a mile and found the spring but no sign of elk. I wonder if anything lives in this cave? it was high up on a cliff on top of the ridge. I found the spring about a mile hike up the canyon Here is a pic of Fritz canyon looking up toward Maple Peak. Later that day I took the quad up 191 to check out a spot for turkey that I told someone about. I found this sorry mess that was left at a camp spot, probably for the junior hunt? The head, wing and feathers left behind for everyone else to deal with. On my way back to camp I saw a deer bedded under a juniper about 300 yards off the road, so I decided to get closer for a pic and all heck broke loose as a dozen more deer that I did not see decided they did not like the intrusion on their turf.

Ryan, My definition of "less than accpetable" are officers who are beligerant, maybe a little hostile at times, over eager in handing out tickets, some that abuse their authority or don't listen to reason because they believe they are right and everyone else is wrong syndrome, and some that like to use their authority to threaten and intimidate young women to the point of tears. I have the utmost repsect for the good officers of the law, and I fully understand what they go through on a daily basis and have to put up with from "Joe Public", I just get a liitle "edgy" when someone say's that we should not blame, but be thankful, for them putting their life on the line for us just because they are an officer of the law. I defend my own life, I don't ask anyone to do it for me. Sometimes we just push the wrong buttons. I would gladly come to the aid of an officer in need. Recent events have made me a little hostile towards our State and local authority, I apologize if I offend anyone with my opinions. Respectfully
