That is a great plan, but too easy. You know how much our governments can complicate something simple! -

Need Your Honest Opinions
Snapshot replied to SouthernCouesHunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Rule #1 , never ask for my opinion, you just might get it I have always been kind of brand loyal, and have shot PSE bows since the late 70's. The PSE X-Force or Bow madness is high on my wish list for this fall. I have been shooting a PSE thunderbolt with lightning cam for 10 years without a problem. There are so many good bows out there, you can't go wrong with any manufacturers top shelf bows. Shoot what feels good. -

AFTER 32 YEARS
Snapshot replied to tjhunt2's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
You get an elk tag every year, and she has to wait 32 years to get a turkey? Man, that is just wrong! Great pics Tj. Give your wife a big congratulations on that bird. -
Yeah, I was by myself. When I take self photo's, I have to set the timer and move real fast into position before the shutter goes off

Arrived Monday Morning at 9:00 a.m Taking a break up at HL saddle rest area Found 2 whitetail resting under a tree up at 4 Bar. They are under the juniper in the center of Pic. One was a buck with fuzzy nubbins. Set up camp down at lower Juan Miller campground. You can't see much from there but it is shady and peaceful in the bottom of the canyon Took the quad up a jeep trail for miles in to the backcountry towards the back side of HL Saddle around the big mountain in the background. Came across a stock tank where 2 whitetails were getting a drink at 1:00 in the afternoon. You can just see their rear ends in the grass as they left. They did not like my quad for some reason From the stock tank you can see Red Mountain to the north. Chillin and grillin in camp Monday night. Tuesday morning I took a ride to the XXX Ranch, the old Fritz place, down on the blue. It is 14 miles from camp to the Blue River. Paid my respect to Fred Fritz, a true pioneer of this area. I am not sure if posting this picture is appropriate or not, I will gladly remove it if it is not. There is a rich piece of Arizona history in this area. The old Fritz place which is maintained by the USFS I then continued over to the Stacey Ranch. This is a pic of the Blue River at F.R 475 When I reached the Stacey Ranch I was going to continue up the Coalson jeep trail, however, there were cattle on the other side of the gate and they were getting spooky from the quad, and I did not want to cause a problem on a private property pass thru so I turned around and headed back to a canyon that I wanted to check out. The canyon was supposed to have a spring somewhere in it and maybe some resident elk. So I parked the quad and hiked up the canyon for about a mile and found the spring but no sign of elk. I wonder if anything lives in this cave? it was high up on a cliff on top of the ridge. I found the spring about a mile hike up the canyon Here is a pic of Fritz canyon looking up toward Maple Peak. Later that day I took the quad up 191 to check out a spot for turkey that I told someone about. I found this sorry mess that was left at a camp spot, probably for the junior hunt? The head, wing and feathers left behind for everyone else to deal with. On my way back to camp I saw a deer bedded under a juniper about 300 yards off the road, so I decided to get closer for a pic and all heck broke loose as a dozen more deer that I did not see decided they did not like the intrusion on their turf.

Ryan, My definition of "less than accpetable" are officers who are beligerant, maybe a little hostile at times, over eager in handing out tickets, some that abuse their authority or don't listen to reason because they believe they are right and everyone else is wrong syndrome, and some that like to use their authority to threaten and intimidate young women to the point of tears. I have the utmost repsect for the good officers of the law, and I fully understand what they go through on a daily basis and have to put up with from "Joe Public", I just get a liitle "edgy" when someone say's that we should not blame, but be thankful, for them putting their life on the line for us just because they are an officer of the law. I defend my own life, I don't ask anyone to do it for me. Sometimes we just push the wrong buttons. I would gladly come to the aid of an officer in need. Recent events have made me a little hostile towards our State and local authority, I apologize if I offend anyone with my opinions. Respectfully

Amanda, you always have the cool pics and places, but do you have to include the rattlesnakes . Did I ever tell you how much I dislike rattlesnakes! I am the Indiana Jones of the hunting world "Snakes. Why does there always have to be snakes" Great story!

I have no problem with officers doing their jobs, and enforcing the law equally, fairly, and impartially, however, officers with attitude problems that treat people in a less than acceptable manner during the ordeal will not get one ounce of respect from me, especially when my tax dollar pay's their salary. Recently, I filed a complaint against an officer of the Pima County Sherriff's department for a situation that involved a traffice stop where my stepdaughter and 2 other automobiles where arbitrarily pulled over for speeding without the use of radar or time/distance measurement. The officer in question was yelling at the people in the automobiles. The officers behavior was totally inappropriate. I am sure my complaint was sent to the outgoing file bin (Trashcan) Just becuase someone has a badge, does not mean they deserve to wear it!

Great pics. Glad you guy's had a great time on "The Juan". I like fishing up there, but I never seem to get up that way as often as I would like.

Sorry to hear it, that stinks. One other controversial problem is not having DOT approved tires. The other bad factor with our wonderful State budget deficit, all state agencies are looking to make money anyway they can??.

I like it! Thats a nice lookin pool by the rocks.

Nice!

I use Advantage Timber most of the time. It blends well with Oak, Juniper, Ponderosa, etc, a lighter desert camo pattern for lower elevations.

Is that Grammer ranch the one at Turkey Creek?

Some of you may have seen this before, but here is a pic of my unit 27 bear taken in September of 2007.

accidental shooting on turkey hunt?
Snapshot replied to elkhutnaz's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I don't get that either. I just can't fathom someone accidentally shooting someone else, unless an animal was directly between the hunter and shooter and the shooter did not know he was there? Another thing is why did his friend send him to the hospital by himself, was it a minor wound? -
