It will only be a matter of time before agencies start issuing fines for circumstances that, could and should, be classified as "non emergency". Similar to the stupid motorist law. It looks like these people(hikers) that probably have no business being in tough situations, are using the beacon as a crutch, or fail safe way to call in the troops if they accidentally stub their toe! They pushed the panic button because the water they found "tasted kind of salty". Where do stupid people like this come from?

I should be one of those people pulling the trigger up in unit 27 this morning , but do to extenuating circumstances I will not be able to make it Had to make a choice between the whitetail hunt and my November Unit 27 archery bull hunt. The elk won! Good luck to all who are out hunting!

Thats funny! Only in Texas. There is a spot on Old Nogales Highway that has a sign that says "Narcotics check point ahead", the cops sit and wait for those vehicles that turn around and head the other way. There is no checkpoint!
