Have run into some up here in the Bozeman area around the Gallatin River, but most good areas around here are on private property. I am not a Montana resident yet so I can't hunt anyway, unless I shell out $$$$$$$$. There is a pic of a pheasant I saw in the Non Hunting trip forum, under "Yet a few more montana pics."

My co-worker has a rubber raft, and now that we have closed up, and winterized the guest ranch for the season, it is time for some serious fishing. The weather has been beautiful, and unseasonably warm, and today we are floating the Madison for the third time this week. I will post more pics of the trips soon, but here is a pic of my co-worker with a nice Madison River Rainbow.

Sorry. Losing a dog that is such a good friend is very hard. A dogs love is unconditional, and thats what makes it so special!

U.S. citizens warned to change travel procedures to Mexico Posted: Nov 10, 2010 5:06 PM MST Updated: Nov 10, 2010 5:06 PM MST Web Producer: Adriana Desiderio TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) – U.S. citizens traveling to or living in Mexico are warned by the American Citizen Services Office to change their travel paths to and from U.S. Consulate General Hermosillo. Extreme threats of violence along Highway 15/Benito Juarez Autopista have lead to the prohibition of travel between Estacion Don and Guamuchil, Sinaloa. U.S. government employees much be transported in armored vehicles while officially traveling in the state of Sinaloa unless they are within the city limits of Mazatlan where non-armored cars are acceptable for travel. Official travel south of Ciudad Obregon must be escorted by police and performed in armored GOVs. No personal travel for Consulate Hermosillo employees is allowed south of Navojoa, Sonora. When traveling through Ciudad Obregon and Navajoa towards Alamos, U.S. government personnel must exercise extreme caution. Traveling in eastern Sonora, north to south from Nacozari de Garcia through Moctezuma, through Arivechi, through Rosaria and ending in Alamos, is prohibited. Violence across parts of the Nogales Consular District and the threat of known drug trafficking activity throughout northern Sonora has lead to all official travel to and in the Nogales Consular District to be conducted in armored GOVs. Currently, consulate employees only are permitted to travel between the U.S. border at Nogales, AZ, to Hermosillo in personally owned vehicles only on Mexican toll road Highway 15 during daylight hours. The Consulate advises all American citizens living in, visiting or traveling through the consular district to only drive during daylight hours. In addition, Americans are reminded to have a U.S. passport when driving to Mexico and that a visa is required for travel to Mexico. Mexican automobile insurance is required when driving to Mexico and only Mexican pesos are accepted for payment at toll booths. Drivers are encouraged to follow the security precautions detailed in "A Safe Trip Abroad" which can be found at http://travel.state.gov/tips/safety/safety_1747.html. -

Congratulations on a fantastic buck. Gotta love that country up there. Lotsa hard work, but certainly worth the effort on those backpack hunts. Way to go!

Happy birthday Phil! Hope your day is wonderful!

Flyfishing the Madison on a frosty morning. A flyfishing fool, or maybe a foolish flyfisherman? Some fall colors. Madison River.

The weather was good into the first couple days of October. We just had a rainy cold spell, with a morning low of 17 degree's. It is sunny now but chilly. Have been doing real well on streamers. I did not get into the park in September as I had hoped. Have been busy. The warm weather kept the tourists around longer. Added a few pics.

The REAL reason for Border violence
Snapshot replied to fatfootdoc's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
The body of a United States citizen has not been recovered after he was attacked by Mexican drug cartel pirates on Falcon Lake. David and Tiffany Hartley were riding jet skis in the lake on the Texas-Mexico border Thursday, September 30, 2010 about 2:45 p.m. when pirates on at least two boats advanced and started shooting guns at them. Mrs. Hartley said her husband had been shot in the head and fell in the water indicated Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez. According to Gonzalez the couple was returning from the Mexico side of the lake after sightseeing and taking photos of the well-known remains of Old Guerrero. Tiffany Hartley at first turned around to help pull her husband out of the water, but the gunmen opened fire on her and she had to speed away. This killing was the first among many known attacks from Mexico drug cartel gunmen on Falcon Lake this year. The pirates aggressively chased Mrs. Hartley into the U.S. waters and continued shooting. Texas public safety officials said the cartel members are known to use AK-47s or AR-15s on their victims. Last month they used a local fisherman's boat to tape the misspelled term word "Game Wardin" on the side to get closer to potential victims. The couple, from McAllen, Texas, was planning to move back to their home state of Colorado later this month, according to the sheriff. “Obama doesn’t think we need much help on the Texas border, but he will send the military into Somali to deal with pirates,” said Eddie Ortiz, of Rio Grande City. “heck, this in our country with our own citizens—wake up America!” -
Sounds like a great hunt, and you topped it off with a very nice bull.!

The REAL reason for Border violence

The fed's should make it illegal for a U.S citizen to travel into Mexico. I bet the Mexican government would think up ways to start helping the situation in a a hurry, when they are losing billions in revenue. -
Dang! That is a very cool picture. I get vertigo just looking at it. I wonder if any sheep have fallen off?
-
Congratulations on a fine bull and excellent hunt. I too, have hunted unit 27 for over 3 decades and have left hundreds of miles of boot tracks in that country. I can certainly appreciate a successful hunt up there. Well done!
