Fly Fishing the Roaring Fork River 6/02/2012
Snapshot replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
Nice fish. Streamer fishing is always a blast. When fishing in Montana, I like to use the ghost tip flyline. I tie a 6' length of 12lb. level line to the end of the ghost tip. Nothing like getting whacked in the back of the head with a conehead streamer -
Looks like you got your wish tonight!

Nobody in Tucson lends things to Sundevil fans! Kidding................. I used to have a homemade one I built out wire mesh. Followed the instructions off the internet. I took it to the white mountains, put a hotdog in it. Left it in the lake overnight and caught 2 scrawny crawdads. I had everyone pumped up about the big crawdad feast we were going to have.

Saw that on the news. Those campground bears become pretty bold sometimes. 5 years ago we were camping at Hoyer just outside of Greer, and the G&F brought in a culvert trap because of a nusiance bear. Don't know if they ever caught it?

Gila Wilderness Fire, smoke plume seen from the house
Snapshot replied to ScottAdams's topic in Non-hunting trip reports
The sky is gray in Tucson today from the smoke making its way west. -
Bean bag toss a.k.a. cornhole, the bags are full of corn. Points cancel like horseshoes. Its great fun to play while having a few cold beverages. Thanks. I'm from an earlier era when the word meant something far different. I considered protesting your friend's use of my stylized sketch without my permission if that's what the word still meant. Bill Quimby I was thinking the same thing. That word has a different meaning where I grew up.

Espcape the heat is right. I'm kickng myself for not being able to get back to Montana for the summer. I am on call for the next 3 weeks, but when the boss gets back I'm hopin to slip up to the cool country for a few days?

Most of those people are ignorant of the rules, and don't really care about rules anyway. The proverbial bad apples ruining the whole barrel.. Perfect example is the two boneheads who started the Wallow fire. I just checked, and they got one year in jail, and a $10,000 dollar fine. I think they got off way too easy. 79 million to fight the fire, and millions in property damage. A forest that will take a hundred years or more to regrow. Even when fires are allowed during hunting season, I get sooooooo paranoid. if it is breezy I won't even start a fire. I always have water and fire extinguisher at hand. I had a campfire once where a big knot in the log exploded and caught the grass on fire 20 feet away. I stomped it out quickly, but still.......you never know.

Do you two want to get a room?. Seems you got a thing for one another.

It's open season on thieves. Crime is just getting worse anywhere we go. Someone could make a fortune with low cost GPS tracking chips. Hide one in anything of value. I think they should do that with trail cams also.

With so many cwt members shooting the Sunrise 3D Shootout, wouldn't it be a blast if we could have a cwt get-together there at the same time some year? How awesome would that be? TJ Great idea! A 3-D shoot, CWT get together............and fishing? Oh yeah! Count me in.

The simple solution is to raise the tag prices. Let the hunters squawk about it. It will be benificial in the long run.

No doubt about it. The 1911 is probably the best semi-auto ever made. In all its variations. Just look at what all the comp shooters use. A customized 1911 is a thing of beauty, and an accurate, lethal, firearm. It's probably just not as popular in certain circles as it used to be. When I was working for Blackhawk in Bozeman over the winter in 2010-2011, I ran the injection molding machines that made made the plastic pistol holsters and accessories. We did just not receive as many 1911 orders as many of the others, but we still made a bunch. During my 6 months there, I probably made 25,000 holsters of various design.

They are probably getting lessons from those big bootied softball girls.

Thats awesome. I love those big, wide, sweeping Mulie racks. Handsome buck for sure!

The heck with Baseball. Baseball is like one notch above golf. I can't wait until football season. Now that they got rid of Pyscho Stoops, there's a new sheriff in town.

Maybe. But all that matters at the end of the day.......is the scoreboard.!

The sound of Sundevil silence. Wooot woooot!

No worries Bill. You are a good writer, and just particular about it. Myself, on the other hand, am not a good writer. That's probably why I didn't pursue writing my books. Good ideas in my head, just can't seem to make it happen on paper.

Sweet looking ride!

P.S- I am not sure how chevy is setup, but on my Dodge I had to pound out all the wheel studs to attach the new hub to the disc. It takes a little time.
-
4x4 hubs are usually an integral assembly. Have to replace the whole thing. You may have to rent a hub puller if it needs some force to get it off. Its a whole lot easier if you have an air impact wrench and compressor. Good Luck and be safe.

Yes indeed. Raise a toast to our valiant service members, and to those who have fallen in the line of duty. I was hoping to spend the weekend in the mountains, but my boss is going to Africa on a safari tour for 3 weeks. I need to be around to handle emergency service calls. Dangit!
