  1. People are narrow minded about Obamacare being a good thing, because Obama and the liberal left wing media has brainwashed many americans. We live in a society of people who want something for nothing, and Obama is the king that will give it to them. What better way for our domestic terrorist of a President to work his evil doings than by destroying our healtcare system.

    Yellowfin Tuna Fishing - Hawaii

Nice fish. That will be some good eating. I don;t like it that charter boats get to keep fish. If I'm paying big bucks, I want to keep some. My buddy went to Aruba on Vacation and caught some fish, the captain gave him a few small ones and kept all the big ones

  12. If I were in that situation, I'd become a landscaper real quick or my landscape is going to look rather poor. I realize this is a touchy subject. We have many on this site who earn an honest wage by working their tail off everyday in a variety of professions; some multiple jobs. Earning an honest wage during these times is commendable, to say the least. I don't like the sound of anyone losing pay or their job. But we can't lose sight of what core services really are. Regardless of emotional attachments. I grew up on a farm watching my dad wake up at 2am during the summer time to irrigate, then drive a tractor for the remainder of the day. He usually strolled in the front door sometime in the evening for dinner, then went to bed after that. I'll never forget how tired my dad always seemed but he never quit and always seemed to find time to throw a baseball with me. An example I'll always remember. He supported 7 of us kids on very little while my mother stayed home for the most part to "keep us in line". I'm pretty sure my mom never left the kitchen and there was never a time she wasn't wearing an apron. Some years we were poor, the rest of the time we were broke. Ha! But you can ask all of my siblings, we had what we needed. Eventually he was basically forced to resign after 17yrs and start over. All of this taught me two things- don't be a farmer and choose a stable profession. It took me a while but I believe I've found a "stable profession". Those of you who are young (or not) and contemplating a career, consider these difficult times and take notes on what historically does well and what might not. IMO, choose a profession that you can make a difference in for the better, not to increase the balance of your checking account. It does mean something at the end of the day, I guaruntee it. You know what it's like to wake up in the morning and NOT want to go to work? I haven't felt that in 6 yrs. We're reaping what we've sown. Americans have become less self-reliant and more self-involved quicker than most nations ever have. It's never a good combination. Greed will be the fall of any nation, government or body (individually or collectively). We're a nation of "too much". Take your pick on which fat could be trimmed. Probably everywhere, but some more than others makes the most logical sense. I'd start with the top and work my way down..... Well said. Having a job you like is sometimes worth more than how much money is involved. I had my own cabinetmaking.woodworking business for many years. However, after 30 plus years of doing it, it burned me out in the end. I got to the point I hated getting up every morning. Stress, deadlines, cash flow. many things that will eat your brain after time. The construction industry was hit hard by economical circumstance. Even though I wish I had my life and home back, I do not miss what I did for a living, even if I make much less. We americans do take many things for granted.

Nice pics. That 4 bore cartirdge is HUGE. I have never shot anything bigger than a .458 Win Mag. I can only imagine the recoil of those big thunder boomers. ......and those Buffalo don't look too happy. Was it Capstick that said "A buffalo will look at you like you owe him money" ?
  14. If you're a libtard you go ask China for a few coins to keep getting your weeds pulled. Then come back home and tell everyone it's a stimulus. Obama just gave 3 million landscapers a free pass.
  15. Not true. A person who voluntarily quits because of unacceptable work changes are eligible for UE.

Nice bull. Your buddy looks like the kind of guy who can handle a .600 NE. The bullets from those guns are so big they should have a license plate attached to them.
  17. Exactly. If there is no money, many will be jumping ship.
  18. I can certainly understand paycuts, but cutting a policeman, or firefighters pay from $35-40K per year down to $15K is way excessive, and potentially catostrophic for many of those people. Theres a big difference in loosing a few bucks an hour compared to a 60% or more reduction in pay. There could be a mass exit by many city workers.

    Who taught you to hunt?

I started out with a BB Gun also, until I shot the rear window out of my Dad's pickup, and also the barn window. I never saw that BB Gun again.

    Who taught you to hunt?

I am self taught. Or I should say, My Dad and I taught each other. When my parents moved us to Tucson in 1973, my Dad and I didn't know anything about hunting in Arizona. My Dad made friends with a guy, and he took us out to Willow springs area to hunt quail, along with the shiny new Winchester single shot 20 guage that my Dad saved up to buy me. 2 years later when I was 14, my Dad bought me a new Remington 788 in .308. He could not afford a rifle for himslef so he had to borrow one that year to hunt deer. The next year he bought a duplicate of my rifle for himself. We didn't scout in those days, but just figured things out as we went.
  21. AS to myself, I don't live in a glass house, and I don't criticize without good reason. This economy has damaged my life more than anyone will ever know. Police and Fireman are not part of the big picture as far as city workers are concerned. They have a set job that they do, and cannot get away with the "I don't care" attitude I have seen with so many other city/state workers with mundane jobs. There are exceptions to the rule of course. How many of us have had to go to city/state offices or call on the telephone to only be greeted by the attitude that they are doing a favor by even talking to us? Those are the type of people I am talking about. Not the Cops or Fireman, or even the few others that work hard. Paying police and fireman minimum wage is an insult beyond belief. If that town has had budget problems for years, then someone should have figured it out by now, instead of waiting until the money runs out. Even with the people that work hard, often times it is mismanagement of funds by the upper echelon that creates big problems for those lower on the totem pole. Personally, I have a midwestern Protestant work ethic. I despise laziness in employee's, whomever they work for. SOme of us would love to regain a quality job, with benefits, that so many others take for granted. But thats not the moral too this story, the people that will suffer from a bankrupt city will experience hardship.

I wondered why the Banteng hunts were so expensive, compared to the reasonable price for Water Buff.
