Question of the Day
Snapshot replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
In this situation I think it is a good thing to lock down the area. Gives the authorities a better chance to bring this terrorist to justice. Sure it's inconvenient for people that have to go to work, or go about their business. But when you have a whacko running around with IED's , and possibly firearms, with nothing to lose by killing more Americans. I would gladly stay home. and hope the fugitive comes into my house or yard. Show the guy how it feels to have his legs blown off. -
The two men involved in the Boston bombing are believed to be Muslim, possibly brothers. One is dead in a gun fight, the other will be, as soon as they find him Don't really care what clan a Muslim belngs too. A terrorist is a terrorist.

Boston Marathon Bombing Investigation

One of the bombers is dead in a fire fight. The other is on the run. He will be dead soon. -
One of my amusing things to do on the internet, is to go over to MSNBC, and bash the liberals on the comment board. It's funny how all the liberals over there think the bombing, and Ricin letters were probably the work of a right wing extremist. Turns out the man who sent the ricin letters, was a Democrat. He is being charged with the attempted assasination of the President. Lets see how the media lapdogs spin this one.

There has been alot of "Fishy" since Obama has been in office. He is the king of fishy. A Saudi national who was a spectator was just deported? WTF. Meet the bombers http://faithfamilyfreedom.com/meet-the-bombers/ -
Almost every politician in this country, from Obama on down, has really lost touch with reality. These liberal dem's think that they are entitled to pass any law that they want, and then they cry foul about it when it is opposed. I think McCain is going senile. The guy is so far out in left field, that IMO, he has beome a traitor to the GOP, RNC,.and the people who voted for him. I was reading an article this morning how the left said that this bill was defeated by Senators listening to the anti gun control lobby, and that they went against the will of the people? Really? What will, and what people are they referring to? Why dont they just say that they voted against the will of "The left". Because every Republican, conservative gun owner that I know , and have come across on all the blogs "DO NOT WANT ANY FORM OF GUN CONTROL" I really want these loony lefties to explain what "WIll of the People" they are referring to. It will be a cold day in Hades before I submit to their will Our constitution is like a sidewalk made out of bricks. If the government keeps stealing these bricks, one by one.Sooner or later we will have no path to walk on.

So, what was the strategy of Harry Reid voting against it? Has to be some sort of loop hole that lets the bill resurface if the Sen Majority leader votes no? Exactly. If he votes against it, they can bring it back to life. -
Happy Birthday! With many great returns! Happy Trails!

The four Dems who voted against it are from red states, with lots of hunters and gun owners. These 4 are up for re-election in 2014. I bet my bottom dollar that if they are re-elected, they will flip flop in a hurry. -
If they tried, I would scratch their eyeballs out, or maybe hit them real hard wilh my purse.

God, I really hate Obama. I really, hate, that lying sack of turds. The shameful day in Washington started when Obama took office. 91 % of americans are for expanded background checks? What a bunch of hogwash. This ignorant woman and her skewed statistics. Does she realize over 50 million people own guns. I bet the 23,000 gun owners on her list are mostly Democrats. Despite an impassioned push by President Barack Obama and an emotional lobbying effort by the families of mass shooting victims, proponents of a compromise measure to expand gun background checks on Wednesday fell six votes short of passage in the Senate. The vote on the amendment was 54 to 46. Sixty votes were needed for the amendment to be adopted. The deal was the result of a deal struck between Republican Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania and Democrat Joe Manchin of West Virginia. It would have extended existing background check rules to gun sales made online and at gun shows. Speaking in the Rose Garden after the vote, a visibly frustrated Obama decried the defeat of the measure as parents of victims of last year's Newtown school shootings and former congresswoman Gabby Giffords looked on. "All in all, this was a pretty shameful day for Washington," he said sternly, urging backers of gun control to continue the fight. Slamming critics who said that victims were used as "props," Obama said that their voices and experiences should have been welcomed, adding that gun lobbyists "willfully lied" about the consequences of the background check measure. As the bill was defeated, Patricia Maisch -- a survivor of the Tuscon shooting that targeted Giffords -- yelled "Shame on you!" from the Senate gallery. After the vote, Maisch said outside the chamber that she screamed when she realized the amendment had been defeated. "They need to be ashamed of themselves," she said. "I think the ones who voted no ... they have no soul. They have no compassion for the experiences that people have lived through, gun violence, who have had a child or a loved one murdered." Although backed by many victims of gun violence, including the Newtown families, the legislation was vehemently opposed by the National Rifle Association, who said it infringed on the rights of gun owners. In a statement, NRA-ILA executive director Chris Cox applauded the proposal's defeat: "This amendment would have criminalized certain private transfers of firearms between honest citizens, requiring lifelong friends, neighbors and some family members to get federal government permission to exercise a fundamental right or face prosecution," he said. "As we have noted previously, expanding background checks, at gun shows or elsewhere, will not reduce violent crime or keep our kids safe in their schools." Four Republicans -- Sens. John McCain of Arizona, Susan Collins of Maine, Mark Kirk of Illinois and amendment author Toomey -- broke with the rest of the GOP to support the background check legislation. Four Democrats -- Sens. Max Baucus of Montana, Mark Begich of Alaska, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota and Mark Pryor of Arkansas -- voted against it. Those Democrats are now the targets of liberal groups vowing to advertise their 'no' votes. In a statement shortly after the defeat, Progressive Change Campaign Committee co-founder Stephanie Taylor slammed the four defectors. "Today, the Senate voted against the 91% of Americans who support background checks to stop gun violence," she said. "We'll be holding accountable Democrats who voted against their constituents by running ads in their states, featuring some of the 23,000 gun owners who have joined our campaign for common sense gun reform." -

The Dem's will eventually buy off enough Reublican votes to make it happen at some point. Wait and see. -

Obama spoke out and said it was a "Shameful day" in Washington for not passing the bill. IMO - The shameful day in Washington started when Obama took office. The Democrats will keep hammering away at this issue, and the Republicans they need to help support it, will eventually get bribed off or cave in. -

My wife finally drew her first archery elk tag 5BN
Snapshot replied to elkslare's topic in Elk Hunting
I have never hunted there, but I know a guy who is religous about applying for that hunt. He has taken some decent bulls, and missed opportunity at bigger. A few years ago 4 of his group had tags, and they came home with 3 bulls. Biggest was 340 ish,, the other 2 were in the 300 class. He showed me some trail cam pics of a couple bulls that would go around 350. It's been a few years since I have talked with him. Don't know what he has harvested since. I am not picky. The first decent 6x6 I could get my sights on would be fine with me. Good luck. Hope to see some of your hunt pics this fall. -

Plenty of tags left for ya! Just kidding about the old fart.....I just turned 51, 10 days ago. Ouch. Those hills just keep getting steeper, and the big "Red S" on my chest has faded considerably over the years.

Are bipods really worth the extra weight?
Snapshot replied to AZ_SAWBUCK's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Some like them, some don't. I don't like the extra bulk it adds to a rifle. I like to use my tripod, if i have time for the shot.
