Do what I do, and "Just say no", to trail cams.

I have hunted close to the edge of the wilderness boundaries a couple times, but never the interior of the wilderness. Be a great place for a guy with pack animals, and, or, a hardy backpacker.

Found the head and skeleton of a 29.5" non typical mulie piled up under a juniper years ago, in one of the areas you mentioned. Don't know if it was a lion kill, or wounded by a hunter.? Looks like it had been there for a about a year?

SHhhhhhhhh.......Don't make me slap a rainbow sticker on your truck. Just tried to put a link to"Karma Chameleon" on here for the younger generation to understand your joke but turns out im to old to learn how to use internet tools on my phone. I'll take the glass of Merlot....but I would kick Boy George....right off the planet, if given the opportunity.

That stinks that your gear got stolen. I haven't had the pleasure of fishing in the tropical paradises. But I have seen many fishing shows, and those Bonefish are like underwater missiles. I bet they are a blast to catch. Flyfishing for Tarpon is something I would really like to try also. Someday........

What did you use to catch those Bones off the pier.?

Big problem for me , is my hypothyroid disease, and slow metabolism. Weight goes on easy, and is hard to get rid of. Mostly in the middle.

That's awesome. Great bunch of fish. Did you bring fillets home with you? My Dad went up one time and brought back a bunch of silver fillets. Great eating.

LOL.

Does this post fall into that category?

Yeah, I'm with you on that - The way I prefer to cook catfish is a little too hot for the fam, so I use Cholula or Tabasco with lime after it's cooked. I'm sure you already have a good recipe for spicy hot fish and poultry, but I'd like to compare notes some time if you want. I cant' remember the name of it, but there is a spicy breading mix that you can coat the fillets in. It is pretty good, but not too hot for the family.

Back in 2009 I camped at Strayhorse for the November archery elk hunt. One day I took the Hiline trail west to Crabttree canyon, and down to Eagle Creek, and back to the highway and back up to strayhorse. Around an 11 mile hike that about did me in. Only saw a handful of mulies, one buck,of which was in the 150's. Decent 4x4. The Whitetail were absolutely thick up in some of those areas up by the base of the rim.

Who hunts coues with a 30-06
Snapshot replied to ultramag's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I hunt everything with my trusty 30-06. Great all around caliber. The last whitetail I shot was 425 yards with 150 grain Accutip. -
The largest concentrations of mulies below the rim, is probably in the 4 bar mesa area. It also has the highest concentrations of hunters. It can be a bit of a zoo in that area. After a day or two, the smarter bucks will head further in. same way with the Eagle Creek, and Juan Miller areas, Some bucks in the Eagle Creek area have even been know to boogie over into tribal land across Eagle Creek. The rim face can also be good, as bucks on top can get away from hunters by dropping over the edge. Biggest mulie I have seen in 27, did that very thing, and he got away from me. Just a few observations I've seen from years of hunting there. Sent you a P.M

Not really. Once, when I was hunting a very crowded unit in Colorado, I was still hunting through an aspen grove and found a water hole......and then I found the guy in the tree stand overlooking the water hole. I just waived and retreated from the area. The majority of my hunting takes place in Unit 27. I get off the beaten path, and rarely have to worry about anyone else.

I have harvested 3 deer out of 30B over the years, drawn as 3rd thru 5th choice. . You can also find whitetail where the Mule Deer live. There is my free tip of the day.

All the cities in the USA, in, or, facing bankruptcy.........Democrat controlled. Tucson is well on the path to BK. Almost 1 billion in unfunded liabilities.......liberal controlled city. That's what happens when you vote for liberals.
