Any Preppers out there?
Snapshot replied to Coach's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
You two would make a lovely couple.. Thank you. I have always had my eye on that woman. -
Yes indeed.....TGIF. Been working like a big dog all week. Have you ever heard Micky & the Motorcars? Saw them in West Yellowstone, Mt in the summer of 2011. Pretty good music. Drank beer and danced all night, with cute Ukrainian girl I took to the show.

I think the best way to deal with it, would be for like minded good folks like us, to band together for a survival army. Safety in numbers. -

Any Preppers out there?

It's quite possible, that when sh@t hits the fan, the borders will be shut, and nobody will be allowed in or out. If things get too edgy, King Tyrant Obama, will declare Marshall Law. -
Any Preppers out there?

I agree. I wish I had the resources and facilities to be a prepper. No worries on the tinfoil hat. I wear mine daily. I believe in Government conspiracy, as well as the shadow government that creates, and controls it. There are things going on behind the scenes that most people don't understand, or refuse to believe. The average American is not brave enough, has the money, or will not take the steps necessary, to put the government and elitists, into to their place. Give them a good whoopin so to speak. There are ways to do it, but I cannot discuss that here. Big Brother has become too powerful, and corrupt. The solution is like an electrical appliance. Pull the power cord out of the socket, and it quits working. Take away the power......problem solved. The government gets away with what it does, because we do nothing. The left has become more bold, and Obama is as far left as anyone we have ever seen. -
PHOENIX -- The Arizona Game and Fish Commission met yesterday (Oct. 1) in special public session to discuss the challenges of providing access to certain lands and waters where the public has been denied entry for otherwise lawful hunting and fishing during the current shutdown of the federal government. In particular, the commission discussed its concerns over the National Park Service's closure of Lees Ferry, a popular fishery and boating access area on the Colorado River downstream of Glen Canyon Dam. The commission voted to direct the Arizona Game and Fish Department to temporarily offer manpower and services to the National Park Service to maintain public access to Lees Ferry during the shutdown. "In the case of Lees Ferry, we’re dealing with a unique and important place for anglers, guide businesses, and the local economy," said Kurt Davis, a member of the Arizona Game and Fish Commission. "The Arizona Game and Fish Department already has fisheries management and law enforcement resources dedicated to that area, and we'd like to offer those resources so the federal government can do the right thing and keep Lees Ferry open to the public during this time." The formal motion approved by the commission was as follows: That the Commission direct the Department to offer the National Park Service manpower and services for the purpose of maintaining security on federal property and to federal assets at Lees Ferry for up to 30 days in exchange for allowing access through Lees Ferry to the Colorado River for fishing and hunting activities in accordance with state fish and game regulations during the federal government shutdown. For the purposes of this motion, access means the ability to fish or take waterfowl from shore or boat on the Colorado River from the confluence of the Paria River upstream to Glen Canyon Dam. The Department will monitor costs and report to the Commission should those costs become of concern. It is unknown at this time whether the National Park Service will accept the offer. During the course of the discussion, the commissioners also emphasized that, according to the latest information available at this time, hunters in Arizona will have access to most federal lands (such as national forests or BLM lands) for their hunts, other than controlled access points that have been closed. Access points to developed recreation sites, campgrounds or boat ramps may be closed. It is the department's understanding that national wildlife refuges under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be closed, as will parks under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service. It is also the department's understanding that where federal lands remain open for public access, hunting is allowed in accordance with state law. Certain hunts begin in Arizona this weekend for turkey, quail, tree squirrels, ducks (mountain zone), and juniors-only javelina. For more information on how federal land management agencies are dealing with the federal government shutdown, visit www.doi.gov/shutdown/index.cfm or www.usda.gov/documents/usda-fs-shutdown-plan.pdf.

You are exactly right. I felt the sting of the economic meltdown 4 years ago. Being self employed in a construction related trade, work dried up almost overnight. My wife of 14 years abandoned ship, and headed for greener pastures. I was left in an emotionally dark place to deal with everything as I could. Case in point..... being over 50 years of age, it is not easy going back out into the general workforce. Especially being burned out on what I used to do for a living.Even though I have a tremendous work ethic, I am not as marketable, or desireable over the employment spectrum, and I will never make the money I did before. There are hundreds of thousand of guys out there that understand what shoes I am standing in. We all feel it everyday, Regardless of the what the numbnuts running this country may do to this once great nation. I still have my pride, dignity, and patriotic belief of the constitution, the American flag, and what this country was founded on. Nobody can ever take that away, and that is what motivates me to stand firm against the tyranny and oppression of our corrupt Government leadership.

You need to look at the bigger picture. The collateral effects from the shutdown, is but a drop in the grand scheme of things. The Republicans are taking a hardline stance on defunding Obamacare, and the Dem's won't deal. Certainly the dem's will blame the Republicans, just as they always do. The rippling effects of Obamacare ,on this nation, will be much more severe, than today's Federal shutdown. The economic welfare of Americans is grossly more important, than National park closures, and non essential Federal agencies. Some people will lose paychecks in the interim, and that is a chance people take when Federally employed. The Democrat designed cash cow machine.....AKA Obamacare.....is much more important to the Dem's than doing what is right for American's. Don't believe me? Just wait until the next year or two, when we will see this country really start to crumble.
-
Those of you who work for the Feds will feel the collateral effects of a shutdown, as well as those of us who don't. If the Dem's won't make a deal, why should the Republicans? I am glad the right is taking a hardline stance, even if it probably won't last. The Dem's won't give in, and we will all feel the harsh economic sting of Obamacare over the coming years. It just proves how arrogant and mindless the Democrats are. Everyone knows what a disaster Obamacare is going to be, except for Obama and his band of idiots. But in reality, Obama knows what a disaster it is, and that is his modus operandi. Just wait and see. The sniveling cowards in the GOP will cave in as they always do, and it will be back to corruption as usual.

It's not like the Government does anything anyway. Would we even miss them if they are not there? Not me. It would be a great day if they could defund Obamacare, but it won't happen. The Democrats that are pretending to be Republicans will cave in, just as they always do. They have no guts, and are afraid of the Liberal media backlash. But as Obama claims "There is no proof that Obamacare is hurting the business job sector" Yea right. I wonder what this guy smokes in the morning? I have plenty of proof, and I would like to tattoo it to his forehead.

That is some good redemption for sure. Great width on that bull. Handsome trophy bull.
