I never hunt alone... I mean, I don't take anyone with me but every Ahole with a quad, ranger, or a truck full of 6 guys ready to jump out and ruin an hour long stalk seem to join up wherever I go.... A guy a few posts back said it best. It IS really easy to convince yourself it is all a waste of time to hunt in AZ. Too many hunters, too few days, and a draw system that is absurd. With AZGFD adding wolves into the north now, you can pretty much be assured AZ has 10 years of decent hunting left before it starts going the last mile into heck. Hunt alone? I dang well try. Being with someone else doesn't feel predatory. Being alone and stalking is as close to truly being the animals we are as you can get. And a good solo stalk is a true accomplishment...

Easy. They throw chicken bones on the ground, ask a shaman to decipher them, pay a biologist an exorbitant fee to analyze the data, hold an expensive forum to put on a good front then they take the money from the Feds and do whatever the Feds say needs done. Wholly worthless group of bureaucrats that are AZGFD.

Congrats! Wondered if you were in business. My family has 2 tags up in 4A/B this year so I hope I will need a processor!! Anyone have a suggestion??

I am off for my Turkey hunt starting next Tuesday. Will report back to see how we do!

The Turkey was Fall of 2012 from Oct 05 - Oct 11, 2012 The Elk hunt was Hunt 3006 from Sep 27 - Oct 3, 2013 - Unit 22 North Bull elk

I have bought a bear tag each time I go just in case and it seems like bear are taken so fast that it just might be pointless. Does anyone ever get a bear that isn't with hounds or a guide?

No answers for 6 months? Guess I will answer so maybe others can use the info.... I have hunted 22 a few times. My turkey hunt was rough since every ATV rider in AZ came through my hunt spot. Some joy riding. Some scouting. The take is posted on AZGF for anyone interested in odds. Heard a gobbler here and there. Have heard elk. Terrain changes all depending on where you hunt. You can have serious cardio hill hikes or nice smooth low transition rolling scrub. Only been to 22 once for Elk and once for Turkey. Sadly could only hunt a couple days each time. Sadder yet, came away empty handed. So the word is still out on Unit 22 in my book....

Where is Washington park? I plan to go walk Hardscrabble this weekend and have a listen.
