beeman recommends using M.E.K. solvent or acetone on the shaft to clean if there is no nock installed. if there is a nock installed use denatured alcohol. just be sure not to soak the carbon fiber for an extended period of time.

a fter you scrap them as clean as you can then use a bit of acetone to clean the shafts don't soak them in it just rub with a rag, and for blazers I use superglue the 15second set kind. its always held well for me. If you use AAE you need to use there special AAE glue . and if you like a bit of custom you could always get arrow raps before you fletch, it will add about 10 grains to the back end but there easy to see and you can get ones custom made for you.

One of the few places out side the USA I have any desire to go to. Beautiful photos.

Use some modleing clay on the base where the rings will go , press the scope down into the clay and I leave about 1/4 inch between the bell and barrel. If you use caps put them on and mesure from them. Now measure and find the perfect set. To close and the recoil can cause the barrel and scope to bump.

Bowfit Upper-Body Exerciser - Anybody have one?
QhunterAZ replied to naturegirl's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
I have used the bands the bowfit and now the bowtrainer. only the bowtrainter had a ridged i'll call it a riser to hold onto the rest was just a neoprene sponge grip type thing. the real reason I went with the BowTrainer was it can be used from 15lbs all the way to 130lbs in one setup depending on the band combo you grab hold of. I shoot trad so I have never tried to rig it with a release. they work well for what they are and the bands are easier to transport places for some quick draw cycles. I think corner archery sells bands in several different weights for half of what that one goes for. if I was to use the bands again I would get a spare bow handle and run the bands through that, for a more realistic grip and hand control practice. just be sure to never slip, there's a reason they put those foam grips on them for liability. -
I was feeling lazy and let a buddy of mine put a scope he had just bought on at cabelas once..... Never again. they have no idea what they are doing there either. horribly obviously Canted scope, poor unevenly tightened rings. Same with archery equipment work.

For rings and bases I like Warne, badger ordinance, night force, American Defense. Don't skimp , you want quality parts you can rely on. i am paying down a vortex gen2 razor 4.5-27x56 ebr2 mrad. No reason to buy cheep only to buy a second time.

Backpacking in border units?
QhunterAZ replied to REDFIELD11's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Had a friend who would bow hunt the border units every year. Had 2 friends who followed along at a distance for long range over watch with rifles. he said he had a few scary encounters. how much of it he was exaggerating who knows. Look for some primitive wilderness areas anywhere in the state with a few square miles you have to walk. few people are willing to hike in anymore lol. -
My girlfriend and I both bought the coldweather mitten kind, the type you can pull back the finger covers so you can use a rifle trigger or a bow release. kept our hands warm in a Wisconsin hunt and we were still able to easily get the shots off. Hard to shoot well with any type of covering over your fingers that block the feel.

Do you agree with G&F forcing kids to take Hunter Safety???
QhunterAZ replied to Big Browns's topic in Youth Hunters
i took my class nearly 30 years ago. and I went a few years back with my boys It was a good class, the instructor was great. They have hunted with me since they could walk. But they still managed to learn some new stuff. Now my daughter and my girlfriend are going to go this summer. Of coarse they may really like the class, after all it is not boring there is stories and videos questions and some show and tell. then you get to shoot. -
If you get the chance to hunt Namibia... you won't regret it

Wow, that is awesome, congrats on your trip. -
Decided I want to get back into the long walk hunts. After a motorcycle accident I never really got back into shape. so today I went down and got it going 2 days solo and one day with a trainer. figure the 3 day a week at minimum route. everything was great till I went to the locker and some one broke into it and stole my wallet. Found it missing only a hundred bucks at least. Ahh well could have been worse my hunting license was still there. So what's good for those off days to prep for a hunt, what's a good nutrition regiment? I am totally new to this. I have never been in a gym before.

don't see rifle scopes covered. I see binos, spotting scopes and field scopes, no rifle scopes.

Stomp Nikon charge, up to and including purchasing a new unit. they do not cover abnormal use or accidents. and they only cover the original purchaser.

COMMISSIONERS EMAILS STOP PUSHING ARCHERY ELK BACK!
QhunterAZ replied to SirRoyal's topic in Elk Hunting
more muzzy hunters and more rifle hunters than bow. There's a lot more dollars if they can attract more shooters to put in there application fees. -
Last year they rebuilt the archery range. added nice bow hangers, a table, awnings over benches. still have to walk a ways for a drinking fountain though, but I bring water. they replaced the targets but the middles get shot out and you risk them eating your arrows. So I bring my own.

Free speech can be uncomfortable, it can be right or wrong. The important part is that it is exercised. If it is used to show that people are not going to cower in fear of reprisals. if it is used to give sympathy. All that matter is that it is used. I can disagree or agree with any number of ways it is used. But I will support and defend the right to use it. You can use politics, religion , science ,personal opinions and any number of other things in your speeches, You are free to do so. This was not used to single out this one place, it was used to show every person out there that fear of the scimitar has not shut us up.

And no violence reported by anyone... Seems armed people scare away the aggressors. Who would have thought.
