    WTB Remington 870 Barrel 12 Gauge 26"+

Are you sure you want a 26" barrel? it only gives you like 4" of extra range over a nice 22"
  2. QhunterAZ

    Which one?

What ever got in range first.
  3. Feathers checked and broadheads glued and trued. Final checks on both sets of strings for the longbow. Knife sharp and ready to work. Bag packed. Jeep tuned up and ready to go. All that's left now is a good file sharpening of the broadheads on Wednesday then a coat of mineral oil to keep them from oxidizing.. Then on the road Thursday. And its time to have fun. Stay safe and good hunting.

    Riflescope Mounting

Use a plumbob out far enough to make the crosshairs and plumbob clear. That will give you a perfect verticle line. And a small level either along the scews at the butpad or some place your sure is level. If you had a one peice base you could use a small tsquare or pennies to slip between the base and the flat bottom of the turret housing to get it exact instead if all the levels.

    Vortex

I don't mind murpy now that i use vortex. they got all there optics coverd.. So i go badlands packs and sleeping bags and tents. if only there clothes were unlimited waranty as well. Vortex for my optics. Busse and Winkler for my knives. Cutthroat for my broad heads for my longbows. unlimited warranty as well The rest is up to me but the above is what I tend to damage the most.

    muzzy brush threads

Check the ramrod most of them can unscrew to swap out the ends. So you can put the jig and the ball screw and such on the same rod.

did you happen to contact the local forest service guys up there to atleast see if they have it?

    OUCH

Ouch. Looks like a bad overdraw combined with poor hand position. I dont see carbon fibers poking out olaces at least.Seems no one taught the right things to that guy.

    Stolen camera

Did you ask the local game and fish or forest service office? Lots of tines they pull cams and stands left in units. After all they are considered abandoned and litter.

    Leupold reticle

Makes it easier to shoot at range and in the wind. If you take the time to learn it.

    Carpet targets

Same thing, super easy to make, they are heavy though we have one made with carpet squares 2ft wide 1.5 tall and the wide bet it ways 150lbs. But it stops my 342fps compound in 6 inches.
  12. So far all my guns love the ttsx. used my .308 in Wisconsin 2 years back, shot was up hill in thick brush head on shot. bullet entered the sternum opened the heart, popped it like a balloon then snapped the spine just above and behind the lungs and had that perfect flower shape when it was all over and recovered. was nice that it used up al the energy in the animal.

    Arizona Department of Meat Transportation

"keep it kool supersized transport bags". I have one that's big enough to sleep in, waterproof and heavy duty. has a +/- 1 degree change to ambient temperature rating per hour inside the bag. I figure I can drop ice in it if I need otherwise it makes a great pillow or pad to lay on.

    "Please pass the salt."

    Ulmer Edge

Go Grave diggers cut on contact or chizel point. I shot ulmers but I hate blade bands.

Can you cool a barrel quicker at range

yes id would think uneven cooling would be real bad for the barrel, I say pull the bolt put it in the shade. shoot something else while you wait.

Should we be using ear protection?

Left ear has about 25% hearing loss. Started using electronic hearing protection 2 years back. It help and the new stuff enhances sounds.

    Field points.

I like vista, but bunny busters are good to. Saunders makes a great screwin with rubber head as well. Trick is to match your tip weights. I used 75gr metal blunts and a 100gr slip on.

    Field points.

Yep you can carry small game arrows and big game broad heads while hunting. All year around. I like those rubber tipped small game heads, they will help absorb some of the impact possible saving your arrows. I do a lot of bird and rabbit hunting with my bow, your compound probably puts out over 80 foot pounds of force. after one trip I had 6 rabbits and 9 broken arrows ,that's 13 dollars an arrow, where the inserts and tips were 3-9 inches into the shaft. once I got the rubber slip overs they all survived, though I had to track down the nocks that shot out if I hit something really hard.

    Picking out a scope

I like the vortex every one has likes and dislikes as far as brand, so far my vortexes have been replacing all my other scopes. I have had no problems with any of them I have crossfire, diamondbacks, vipers, a gen 1 razor and now a razor gen2. for hunting I would want the 4x16 for the low end closer shots possibility. if you think your shots will be longer 100+ yards then the 6x is great. The larger 50mm can be a problem if you are not willing to add a raised cheek rest. It is so easy to put on though, you can go with a store bought with Velcro straps, one or make one very easily. As far as used glass, warranties may not be there for you. a few of them will cover you no matter what though.
