I used spinning reals for a long time before I learned how to use baitcasting aka backlashing reels so use what you have. Keep your line fresh and re tie the knots often. I agree though spinner baits, dropshot, soft plastics. Crankbaits if your in the lake, from shore they get snagged to often. Learn to cast accurately like into a small can accurate. Once you get super dedicated you'll want all kinds of gear and a boat. My deck when I fish has 7-9 rigs at any one time ready to go. But you can fish with basics and still have fun.

Getting realy complicated.

Pack its insides full of ice and get that jeep dirty. The only problem there is blood eats paint. Anti hhunting people want to get angry seeing that on the way to buy there store bought veal. To bad so sad. I have a wrangler the roof is the on place I'd have room for that monster. Grats to the hunter. Keep on bleeding.

I tie a good square knot using camp rope. So far so good. -
I thought about hunting with a bike but I couldn't throw it far enough. Realy though I have used a mountain bike a few times. Untell I had a crash and nearly ruined my bow. I could not find a way to keep the bow safe enough and still keep the bike light for non road runs.

Winchester 94 in 30-30 open sights, and a savage 110 fcp 300win topped with a vortex razor gen 2. Depends on what spot I am hunting that day.

Misses happen. Environmental, mechanical, mental and physical mistakes can creep into the best shot Do the best you can. Take shots you believe in. I missed my deer at 27 yards this year when the javalina 5 feet from me spooked the deer and he hopped to the side to look at them just ad I let the string slip from my fingers. Nothing I could have changed. It happens.

Any and every Deer with a bow is a trophy.

I flex my arrows at every location of the feathers. So usually 3 times and then a twist. if I hear any cracking or creaking I flex them a bit more till I can be sure its not the glue on the feathers. you do not need to bend them in half just a bit of a flex. just listen for those cracking sounds. and do it every time you pull an arrow from the target. they can slap each other when they hit and that can be enough to cause a fracture to start.

Does anybody NOT buy scent free products for archery hunts?
QhunterAZ replied to naturegirl's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
animals are pretty use to the smell of natural smoke even old smoke. it seems to block out a lot of there other scents and the natives have used creosote for a long time to kill body odor and bacteria. just don't stand there and breath in the smoke yourself to much. its irritating on the lungs. manzanita is another one I like to use. anything local seems to work great. I have seen enough trail cam pics of deer feeding 20 yards from a fire burning, deer and elk stomping through my fire pits, and my buddy a forest service fireman talking about the deer they have to chase out of areas that were burning. I just used it this weekend and had deer so close to me up and down wind that I could count the ticks on there heads without glass. I use to have a little bee smoker I'd have in the truck lost it somewhere though. I need to get another one, its a lot easer that chasing smoke around a pit. -

listen for the calls, and watch where you step. those gambles will sound like a snake when they break and fly. -

I wash my camo clothes in the same stuff I wash my regular clothes. Then when I am ready to Hunt I start a little fire drop some green vegetation on it smoke my skin and clothes. Had deer both doe and buck circle me get to within 7 yards up and down wind. Can't bring myslef to spend money for scent free spray or the scent block clothes.
