In theory. Tough to do when the unit shuts down in 6 days and the unit gets pounded for those 6 days. Not exactly a great hunting experience. I don't necessarily need to kill the biggest deer but at this point in life hunting with tons of other people and whacking a spike off the road just doesn't do it for me. I say let people shoot what they want, I just don't like what the quota system has turned the hunt experience into. I'd rather have 2-3 weeks with less tag holders and more mature deer.

Seems that way. I'd like to see some data on it, but I don't think the game and fish has any idea. Everywhere I hunt I've seen lots more pressure and lots of young bucks killed. Every young naive buck near a road is in trouble. Every unit that closes puts more pressure on surrounding units. I'm all for a draw for archery, it's not the same experience it was, it's declining drastically. Sad to say but my kids will never experince what it once was or could be with proper management. I'd prefer a draw and a better quality hunt.

It actually closes tomorrow at sundown. This quota thing is a joke. Every spike in the state is in deep trouble.

Anyone know if this is a free range hunt? This looks like a different area than the regular Kaibab/Grand Canyon hunt, wildlife area only. I've heard they are in a fence is that true? I'm referring to the Oct 11-15 hunt 7502 fall hunt.

Deer quality is wayyyy down. I'd be a little picky and enjoy the weather and time. Don't expect a giant because they are very few and far between. The older age class just isn't there right now.

Kids hunts are better than adult hunts. Glad we got a couple.

Max points works different with sheep. It's a percentage of tags in the whole state not per hunt like other species

Ice, steroid injections, be really gentle with it. Sharp pain is a set back. Shoulders take a long time to heal. Let it rest and heal. Get a crossbow permit for this year, it's better to let it heal than push through the pain and be out for multiple years. Shoulders are notoriously slow. It also depends on how severe the tear is and how much you use it. I work on these all day every day at work.

Is anyone else having issues applying? Every other application doesn't go through saying it timed out. I did two in like 60 seconds, not sure why its giving me that error.

Aluminum or Carbonfiber?

My son drew this tag, first time for unit 23. We have been all over the 16's and 15 area for elk. Will be doing some scouting. We aren't too picky, we love Coues but he's shot several and never gotten a Muley. We will take whatever comes first of any decent size. Any tips? Seems like a lot of area. It's 11/23-12/1.

People on Facebook saying they got one on Monday. Would be nice if the Game and Fish would update us instead of leaving us waiting.
