I am trying to get a archery permit for Idaho but I have to prove I have had an archery tag in another state. I don't have those old tags still. Is there anywhere on Arizona's site that I can get something to show that I have? Or New Mexico?
-
LOL well kinda. 06 was New Mexico and 07 was Arizona. No bull tag this year. I wish. I seem to have better luck with killing elk than Coues.

Heres my 06 Elk: From the back: 07 Bull: I have two Coues also but I don't have field pics.

salt and feed no more in 2009

I agree Outdoor Writer (thats what I do), but I'm not sure I agree that salt and feed really make a big difference. I guess i'm just tired of being regulated to death. -

The more and more I hear of this state makes me sick! Who wants to archery hunt deer in 110 degree weather when you can't get away from billions of people? Who wants to archery hunt elk in November when you are lucky to even find a bull? The more stuff I hear about the AZGFD, the more and more it is about gaining $$$ and screwing us over on our success rate. I don't want a small chance at a tiny forky. I want to hunt deer or elk in the rut and at least have a chance of seeing a quality mature animal. More and more we are getting screwed by the AZGFD. Time to move states. New Mexico is looking nice about now. BTW Why does it seem like we always get screwed on deer and elk? Antelope and Sheep never change it seems. We never have HUNTER OPPORTUNITY there! We can never get drawn. -

The Bionic Buck......'07 Late Hunt
CouesFanatic replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I shot a deer also in 33 this year that fell down and rolled at the shot. It rolled two rolls down the hill and got up and ran away! I spent a looong time looking for him but never did find him. I'm still mad about it. -
Which department AZ Guide? I'm over there a lot

Well I thought I would post a few pictures on here of how my hunt went. It started off with a lot of scouting and we found these frequently: I also drew a 33 November Coues tag but I bought a bow deer tag just in case. These bucks were seen but I passed them up. Coues are my favorite but the back buck made me think twice We found this bird while scouting, i'm not sure if its a Golden Eagle or what it is I got a few pictures of bulls on the old trail cam: I had a good chance to kill this coues but hit a tree limb and missed The hunt started and the rut was slow. We heard bugling only in the morning till 20 minutes after light and the bulls shut up. We sat water and only had a few bulls come in. We did find some crazy rut areas with rubs like these: On day nine I snuck into a bull in his bed to put an arrow in him at 26 yards. He was quartering away pretty bad but I thought I could make the shot and put it where it needed to be, it worked: The hike back was fun, not too far but heavy: All in all it was a great hunt. I saw lots of big bulls and passed many bigger than this one. I hunted hard for the monster but couldn't pass this one up when things fell into place. He goes right at 340. I was happy with the results to a great hunt. This next picture is last years bull. I've had two great years of elk hunting with a bow for me!
