A Hunter's Good Deed - Monster Bull in 7W
CouesFanatic replied to rossislider's topic in Elk Hunting
Do you have any more details? How far was the bull from where he was shot ? where was the hit? How far from the bull had the hunter looked? Just curious, I know lots of us have had this happen but never find the bull. -
Nice video. Hows the water situation in your neck of the woods? Are we gonna have some short top ends this year?
-
Nice bull. You are lucky you didn't get two cow elk also.

Looking for someone with 20 bonus points or more for deer
CouesFanatic replied to roninflag's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
Max points for deer right now is 15. See for yourself: http://www.azgfd.gov/eservices/documents/bonus/Individual%20Bonus%20Points%20Totals%20by%20Species.pdf -
I was thinking: You only looked for 6 hours? Great shed.

I thought that deer looked familiar. Congrats on the deer, better luck next time.

Is that the same buck Duwanes camp killed?
-
thanks for the help everyone. Got applied last night.

I recently bought a lifetime license and moved out of state for school. When I apply do I check resident or non-resident? I am changing my residency to the new state. Is it true that my draw odds are the same as a resident but I check non-resident? Anyone done this before?

The buck in pics 3 and 4 is a toad! I do like the journal idea, it has been fun to read.

Hmm thats funny. I happen to kill a bull this year at 50 yards. Guess what?, it was a complete pass through. Grow up, you act like you are pre-teen blaming everyone else for bad things you have seen in the past. BTW, I dont use an atv, I dont drink and I have killed 3 other bulls under 30 yards. We all know the wind pushes an arrow, thanks for that comment.

How old are you? Have you every hunted with a bow before? 30 yards? Come on
-
The self righteous attitude is sure getting old around here. Nice buck WHT MTNMAN. My dad and I shot with you out at Usery a few years back a couple times when you were at school down here. Looks like you've had some good luck. Clay is the only guy I will take my stuff to anymore.

no but it looks like fun.

The shot was not in the lungs because 12in of penetration is in far enough to get both lungs. My wife had a clean passthrough at 52 yards on her bull with a 24in draw length and pulling 48# but she was shooting a rocket ultimate steel fixed head and took out one rib on the way in and one on the way out. [ The shot was in the lungs. I watched it from 50 yards with my Swarovski 10 x 42's. I watched the blood pour out the side. I killed a bull the day before that I hit in the exact same spot. It may be hard to believe, but it changed my opinion about poundage. Next time she will be pulling more weight. That was the most weight her bow could go up to. She was shooting WackEm broadheads. Which i've killed 3 bulls with em and had great success.

Is that all this forum is for lately? Coming on here and complaining?
-
30 pounds? I disagree. I watched my wife stick a bull in the lungs at 50 yards last year. Her bow was set at 48 pounds. Never found the bull. I watched in my 10x El's as it hit perfectly behind the shoulder. Only 12 inches of the arrow went in. More poundage is better on the low end of things IMO.

Nice job man. Got any suggestions for blacktails? I'm in your shoes but the opposite. I've killed 3 coues and now live in blacktail country.
-
Then the prices would look like the San Carlos.

Who cares. It happens all the time. Be happy with what you have been able to harvest and be honest. If others lie about it, let them be idiots.

Within a mile most likely.
