what size of lag bolt do you guys recommend?
-
Thanks, just ordered 2 of the big skull hookers. I will post some pics when I get it done. Pretty excited to have all my bulls up on the wall.

$75 plus 10 shipping. $85, this is a steal.
-
$90 shipped.
-
Lowered to 95 shipped.
-
I don't think so. I'll look tonight.
-
Decent length and cutters, not a lot of mass up top.

nice work, that might be filling up with this rain now.

If I bought bonus points only, does it matter if I need to update my card? They already charged me for the BP's right? -
I voted for you just now. I've watched 5 of them now, and yours was the best so far.

Probably sick they didn't find this one

I don't think the nose is crushed. The bone looks intact. Looks like the cartilage has decomposed, pretty common for how old it looks. -
First Time Elk Shed Hunting, Need Help
CouesFanatic replied to CouesHunterAZ's topic in Shed Hunting
Find where the bulls were in the last week of march through april and into may. Thats where the sheds will be. The benefit of being local is that you can see where the bulls are at during this time. This way you are walking in areas where you know bulls have been. -
Looks great. Clay is the only person I will go to anymore. He does excellent work.
-
My thoughts exactly. pm incoming.

Leave it alone. I'd rather have a white rack then one that looks like its been recolored. Unless you do a really good job on it, its very easy to tell its been colored.

Still waiting on my card. -
They opened the roads when I was there, so you must have been before me. It was pretty wet a few miles back towards Clints Well, but out north was bad. Part of it depends on if the cattle are in and if the rancher is pumping water.
-
You must have been in there before me, or after maybe. I saw quite a few old tracks from when it was wet. There used to be a good amount of elk in there, but not when I was there. It was dry dry dry. They won't be there without water.
-
Yes I did, all dry. The only one with water in it was the pump station.
-
I was in the northern stuff last weekend. It was extremely dry. Almost every single tank was dry. We need some rain asap up there.

My brother with 18 points finally pulled a unit 9 Muzzleloader Elk tag. It was the only thing he put on his application so it is what it is. He doesn't have a lot of time to scout and we also pulled two archery tags in another unit. After waiting since he was 12, he wants the biggest bull ever. (don't we all) I know we could kill a 350-360 bull with any guide service and by ourselves most likely, but he wants to hire someone to help out. Who would you hire? Here is my list: (not in any order) Jim Mullins McClendon Mossback Chad Smith-Vaquero Steve Chappell-is he in unit 9? I think he's only on the other side of the state. Jay Scott and Dar Colburn I know a few of these are sponsors on here and I know that both Colburn/Scott, Chappell and Mullins do a clean respectable job. I have no experience with Vaquero or Mclendon. Who produces the top end bulls? It's gunna be a fun fall.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I will be talking this over with my brother throughout the weekend. Please keep the thread civil, it was not meant to be a bash-fest. Thanks

thanks for the responses guys. I'm swamped with finals right now. Once they are over tomorrow I will send a few pm's out. I would like to talk to a few of you. Those of you that pm'd me, I will contact you tomorrow as well. Carry on with the experiences. Thanks
